Grab your manuscript and dare to venture into a palace filled with Lovecraftian horrors.Check out the game Here.Publisher 2P Games announces that two years after the release of his best-seller gamebook, 49 Chiavi, solo developer Michele Buonanno has turned it into his debut video game. 49 Keys is a narrative-driven, puzzle horror-esoteric adventure set in the 16th century and inspired by real magic books. Prepare to confront otherworldly creatures and seek the truth in the stars.

ABOUT THE GAME
49 Keys is a narrative-focused game inspired by real magic books from the 16th century. The protagonist is a friar from the Dominican Order. One day, he receives a letter from his deceased master naming him heir to his mysterious legacy. Your journey will transport you to an unsettling palace filled with mysteries and macabre demons.
Drawing inspiration from point-and-click adventures, 49 Keys blends elements such as intricate puzzle solving, interaction with objects, and creating alchemical mixtures or summoning spirits based on the influence of the planets. Players will need not only to wield their intellect but also to test their mettle and remain calm in the game’s oppressive atmosphere. As the end of the story unveils, they’ll be presented with crucial choices that will change the story’s outcome.
The UI, created by Veronica Wu, is inspired by medieval manuscripts, immersing players in a bizarre and anxious atmosphere, while Fabio Porfidia has drawn the illustrations.
KEY FEATURES Embark on a narrative horror-esoteric puzzle adventure inspired by real magic books written in the 16th century. Solve puzzles, collect items, and interact with the Renaissance-inspired dark world to uncover the deepest secrets of your master’s legacy. Explore up to 4 different endings based on how you played the game. Enjoy the video game adaptation of the Italian best-selling gamebook - 49 Chiavi. Happy Puzzling!

I'm hoping we will start it tomorrow Ana. Taking another look at it this one takes me back when games were moving from text based to graphics combining both. I really liked those games, it was new. Two of my all time favorites were Frederik Pohl's Gaterway and it's sequel Homeworld, games set in another writers universe - Frederik PohlI hope it keeps our interest

Adventure Game Studio is a very cool site Marian. I have downloaded a few games from them including Frederik Pohl's Gateway Remake. I put it on a W10 a few years back. It is a simplified Gateway 1. I purchased both original Gateways from Allvideo Classic Games and ran them over the summer, excellent stories and play. That free remake of Gateway 1 is definitely worth a try Marian

I went ahead and gave 49 Keys a try. Here is some info on the game 49 Keys is controlled with the mouse. You have 3 start slots where auto saves also take place on the slot you have chosen when you click out to the Main Menu. There is a hint system if you get stuck. A red exclamation point will appear on the map if more action is needed at that location. The music that played throughout was very calm. Sound effects will play accordingly, using an axe to chop through a door for example There is a lot of reading mostly short paragraphs with the best description and detail one could ask for. At times very nice pictures are shown. I found the interaction part of the game not too difficult, the text bringing you to those interactions whether on the map or an icon below the text. As you play you will get icons for a map, inventory, ingredients and a notebook. The ingredients icon will swap out for a spirits icon when needed. If you don't mind reading a game this "audio-visual work of art" is definitely one you should try. There was a time I enjoyed text games but I guess time has changed that liking. The reading was a bit much for me. I have not given up on it and will go back to continue on with the story Check out these 3 reviews then watch this demo, the beginning of 49 Keys. Bear with this video. Half way through the video an axe is collected. GAMESPUB can't figure out where to go with it or is having trouble getting there but finally the axe gets put to use
