Marian is probably the expert to answer your question but is this a stored card that you are trying to change? I imagine you go through Your Account to do that. Without trying to make a purchase myself, I cannot recall the screen at check out but that Step One should give you some kind of drop down arrow I think and then you type your card information in.

Mad has removed her post, but one thing I will say about the stored credit card system on Big Fish is that I could find no way to update my card details when my card had a new expiration date so I had to delete it and put in the information for a different credit card instead.

Well that's just odd, Marian. My card was stored there until they started making their changes and it dropped out of there by itself. I never put it back.

I just don't "store" my credit card into anywhere. I use a password manager - Roboform - that stores my CC information. All I have to do is click on a field and the info is entered, but it is not stored on their site. If they ask do I want to save my CC info for faster checkout, I always say no.

I see my post must have been interesting after all, even though I deleted it !! rotfl

I, personally, have no objection to having a card "stored" as long as I feel a particular site is well secured ....

Just to clarify, I was only thinking of stored cards in terms of the Game Club membership. I don't have stored cards for everyday purchases on Big Fish. And you can also use PayPal for the Game Club membership.

And yes, Mad - your deleted posts are of interest, too. laugh

We have been part of two data breaches at sites one would think is well-secured. Thankfully, we didn't have any CC info stored at either site, but we were offered two years of a free credit monitoring service. One of the services did find my name and an old password on the dark web. I don't use that PW any more, but it was still disconcerting to see it there! I don't consider any website truly secure any more.

I don't consider any website truly secure either, Drac. Sad, but true. It's the reality in which we live.

It is indeed. The scammers are more sophisticated and AI has made both good and bad things easier.

Marian, I didn't know that the stored card for the club was different than a stored club for purchases. I guess that explains why my card was bumped out when they made their changes. It was not for membership.

I don't trust anything, anywhere, these days, but that would include a password manager.

You would be correct, oldbroad! The LastPass password manager was hacked a couple of years ago. However, the way I use Roboform is local on my computer only. Someone would have to hack my computer itself to get to it.

I tried a "Password Manager" type of programme once but found it annoying - and since then have kept my passwords on an external drive which I just plug in when needed.

Which is probably not sophisticated enough lol

But none of my passwords - in all the years I've been on the internet - have ever been compromised.

I tried a couple of them too, but found them much too cumbersome. Mine works by having a master password which is the only one I need to remember to log in. When I click on a field that requires a password or other information, the little Roboform icon comes up and I just click on it and select the website... boom, done!

Well, maybe because I'm old, Draclvr, I don't find the external drive too cumbersome ??

The one I use is only about 2" long and 1" wide. And it just sits on my table in a small pot .... grin

Hi, Marian!

That happened to me as well. A couple of years ago, I wanted to update the Expiry Date on my stored credit card when I received a new one in the mail. There was no way to do that in "My Account", so I deleted that card and added it back in again with the new Expiry Date. Somehow, my Big Fish membership was cancelled at the same time, so I was unable to access my account or use my Points. It took almost 2 weeks and several emails to resolve the issue, but I was given 1,000 Points because my Membership was inactive for 11 days and it was reactivated on the next renewal date, but nobody could t ell me what happened and why. Thankfully, the new Expiry Date is valid until 2027 lol !

Have you checked to make sure your membership hasn't been cancelled? j just logged into my account, and there is still no option to edit a stored credit card's Expiry Date.

Susan

I am still a Club member, although I realize that is subject to change without notice, depending upon Big Fish getting the rest of the glitches out - they have been having major issues with Game Club memberships - maybe you noticed the maintenance sign that was on the website about it for a number of days. They are good at compensating people when issues arise, though.

The issue I have been experiencing is that of not being awarded the correct number of points after I make a purchase, whereby the system awards me the 1% cash back in points for non-members rather than the 15% cash back in points that I should be getting as a Club member. I have written to them approximately four times at this point because the points I had been given were not correct. The system seems to be having major difficulties with the recognition of Club versus non-Club members. For the life of me I cannot imagine why everything is still not working 100% the way that it should be. Every time I have written, though, they have given me more than the points that I was owed, so that helps.

When I put a new credit card into the system for the Club membership, I made sure that I did so with my card that has the furthest-out expiration date, so I hear you on that one. grin

Oh, and I have also been getting signed out without my having done so, both on the website and in the Game Manager. This started after the update of the Game Manager. Not a big deal, but it was nice when this was not happening.

That stinks about the bonus points Marian, even if they do (over) compensate you. You shouldn't have to keep going through that!

I had been wondering if you were still getting signed out. I have not had that issue at all.

Hi, Marian!

I didn't notice the maintenance sign. The only time I go to their website is to download the demo of new games you tell us about that I'm interested in (Gameboomers is my Home Page) and if there's a BOGO or 65% off sale and a "The Catch" I don't already have laugh !

Since BF introduced the Points system and the U.S. exchange rates have increased substantially, I haven't picked up half as many games as I normally did so I've used Points for all the games I have bought. You're right, though. They should have all the glitches sorted out by now so they can distinguish between Members and Non-Members. The Points are generous and appreciated when we complain, but they don't solve the problem.

I have 2 years and 2 months to go before my credit card expires again. Hopefully, by then, I'll be able to edit the Expiry Date wink !

Susan
