Developed by Scared Stupid Inc and published by Yahaha Games, the point-and-click survival horror game Midnight Special is now live!

The game officially launched on Steam at May 8, 2025 at 8:00 AM (Pacific Time). Priced at $9.99 USD, with a 20% launch discount for the first two weeks.

Blurred Line between Reality and Illusion

Since its demo release, players have loved Midnight Special for its retro pixel aesthetics and psychological thriller narrative, with numerous details paying homage to classic survival horror games like Clock Tower and Resident Evil.

The game blends the violent artistry of Italian Giallo films, the suspenseful pacing of slasher cinema, and 70s-80s sci-fi tropes, while its gameplay draws inspiration from 90s games. Together, these elements create a nostalgic yet innovative horror adventure.

You play as Sarah, a babysitter hired to care for the twins - Jon and Ellie - at the eerie Boyd Manor. A late-night power outage triggers a series of supernatural events: mysterious phone calls, unpleasant odors seeping up from the floorboards, objects moving on their own, and a giant plastic dinosaur toy that seems alive...

As the line between reality and hallucination blurs, you must solve puzzles through point-and-click exploration, evade lethal pursuits, and uncover the dark truth behind the manor.

Pixel Aesthetics Meet Horror

The game combines hand-drawn and pixel art with cinematic camera movements, 90s-inspired UI, and meticulously crafted environments to deliver a unique, thrilling atmosphere.

Early Access version includes a full episode, with future updates planned to expand the story, add new rooms for exploration, and introduce more branching stories. The developers are also determined to keep polishing the game throughout Early Access based on community feedback.

Whether you’re a survival horror fan, a narrative-driven gamer, or a pixel art enthusiast, Midnight Special is not to be missed. Grab it at a 20% launch discount during the first two weeks and dive into this retro-inspired adventure!

Happy Gaming!
