Ob, I moved you over to Glitches since this is all technical stuff. Big Fish has a whole page about this error message here.To be honest with you, I doubt that anything that you would try to do on your end would fix this. Your best bet would be to write to Customer Support but they may just end up giving you points for the game. I had a problem recently where a game in my Purchase History was telling me that a game was not available, error code 760 - something that had been in my Purchase History for years and I had never had a problem with. This was also happening to someone else with the exact same game; it was Strange Cases: The Tarot Card Mystery (no longer in the BF catalog but readily available and playable from my Purchase History). I wrote to Customer Support and after telling me to try the alternate download method, which did nothing to help at all, they refunded me the money for the game. I think that this too is a problem on their end but that they either don't know how to fix it or don't want to bother, sad to say. Anyway, I did not intend to make a lot of this post about me, just wanted to let you know about my own recent experience. The old Customer Support team was much better than what they have now. But who knows? Maybe you will have a different experience - I certainly hope so. What game are you trying to install, by the way? If I have it, I will try to download it and see what happens.

First, I'm sorry I caused you to have to move my post. I was more curious if you knew what "security" was than actually looking for help, and even though I know you read this board, you are the BF expert so I posted in Casual instead.
Second, thank you for the link to that page about this particular error as I could not find that on my own.
Third, I don't feel at all that you made the post about yourself. Sharing your experience is good and helpful, and also maybe a bit worrisome (that some games that should be available to play are not). And, I agree that either Big Fish or their Customer Support (or both) have some problems. In my recent experience with them, it had to do with Extra Points and I don't feel I really got a satisfactory answer.
I am trying to install Echo - Secrets of the Lost Cavern on my Win 10 computer trying to see and hoping that it will work here, although, I am not actually ready to test it out and replay it again. (I know that installing doesn't mean it will actually work.) It is installed on my Win 7 but I figure it doesn't hurt to have some of these old games installed on more than one computer, reason being that it may not work on newer computers and / or one or the other of the computers may stop working. It is still in my queue so I will try again one more time and if it doesn't work I may contact Customer Support to see if they have any additional information to add but I wouldn't expect any so I may not bother.
Now that we are on the Glitches board though, I will go back to that "security" issue. Can that possibly have anything to do with my computer? I do have a lot of "connection" issues.

I am not sure about that, and I think Drac is probably more knowledgeable about such things. Let's wait and see if she has anything to say about this. I have never had the 766 error message when trying to install a BF game (at least not yet). And I agree that my experience with Strange Cases is worrisome. I am willing not to make too big a stink about it providing it is the only game I ever have this problem with, but if there ends up being another game like this, I will be very upset and will let them know about it for sure.

Hi, guys! Sorry, but I'm running around working outside in this heat and had to go in town to take care of my friend's kitties. I found out quite a lot about this 766 error. It appears that it can be specific to quite a few different things from the IRS to shopping. I did find several articles about it with this one offering several options to deal with it. However, I'd have to agree with Marian that unless this is a game you REALLY want to play, it might be easier to just ask for a refund. Here is the dump of this error as it relates to Big Fish Games. Causes of Big Fish Games Error 766 - Code 766 During software design, programmers code anticipating the occurrence of errors. However, there are no perfect designs, as errors can be expected even with the best program design. Glitches can happen during runtime if a certain error is not experienced and addressed during design and testing.
Runtime errors are generally caused by incompatible programs running at the same time. It may also occur because of memory problem, a bad graphics driver or virus infection. Whatever the case may be, the problem must be resolved immediately to avoid further problems. Here are ways to remedy the error.
Repair Methods Runtime errors may be annoying and persistent, but it is not totally hopeless, repairs are available. Here are ways to do it.
If a repair method works for you, please click the upvote button to the left of the answer, this will let other users know which repair method is currently working the best.
Please note: Neither ErrorVault.com nor it's writers claim responsibility for the results of the actions taken from employing any of the repair methods listed on this page - you complete these steps at your own risk.
Method 1 - Close Conflicting Programs
When you get a runtime error, keep in mind that it is happening due to programs that are conflicting with each other. The first thing you can do to resolve the problem is to stop these conflicting programs. Open Task Manager by clicking Ctrl-Alt-Del at the same time. This will let you see the list of programs currently running. Go to the Processes tab and stop the programs one by one by highlighting each program and clicking the End Process buttom. You will need to observe if the error message will reoccur each time you stop a process. Once you get to identify which program is causing the error, you may go ahead with the next troubleshooting step, reinstalling the application.
Method 2 - Update / Reinstall Conflicting Programs
Using Control Panel For Windows 7, click the Start Button, then click Control panel, then Uninstall a program For Windows 8, click the Start Button, then scroll down and click More Settings, then click Control panel > Uninstall a program. For Windows 10, just type Control Panel on the search box and click the result, then click Uninstall a program Once inside Programs and Features, click the problem program and click Update or Uninstall. If you chose to update, then you will just need to follow the prompt to complete the process, however if you chose to Uninstall, you will follow the prompt to uninstall and then re-download or use the application's installation disk to reinstall the program.
Using Other Methods For Windows 7, you may find the list of all installed programs when you click Start and scroll your mouse over the list that appear on the tab. You may see on that list utility for uninstalling the program. You may go ahead and uninstall using utilities available in this tab. For Windows 10, you may click Start, then Settings, then choose Apps. Scroll down to see the list of Apps and features installed in your computer. Click the Program which is causing the runtime error, then you may choose to uninstall or click Advanced options to reset the application.
Method 3 - Update your Virus protection program or download and install the latest Windows Update
Virus infection causing runtime error on your computer must immediately be prevented, quarantined or deleted. Make sure you update your virus program and run a thorough scan of the computer or, run Windows update so you can get the latest virus definition and fix. Method 4 - Re-install Runtime Libraries
You might be getting the error because of an update, like the MS Visual C++ package which might not be installed properly or completely. What you can do then is to uninstall the current package and install a fresh copy. Uninstall the package by going to Programs and Features, find and highlight the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package. Click Uninstall on top of the list, and when it is done, reboot your computer. Download the latest redistributable package from Microsoft then install it.
Method 5 - Run Disk Cleanup
You might also be experiencing runtime error because of a very low free space on your computer. You should consider backing up your files and freeing up space on your hard drive You can also clear your cache and reboot your computer You can also run Disk Cleanup, open your explorer window and right click your main directory (this is usually C: ) Click Properties and then click Disk Cleanup
Method 6 - Reinstall Your Graphics Driver
If the error is related to a bad graphics driver, then you may do the following: Open your Device Manager, locate the graphics driver Right click the video card driver then click uninstall, then restart your computer

I couldn't agree more with the caution about troubleshooting! But ALL places who post these solutions say this... sometimes it's just in the small print.
Glad you got it installed and I hope you can play it without any issues! And to answer your question about your connection issues, no, I don't think that had anything to do with it. If your connection blipped out during the installation, that's not likely the error you would have gotten.

NOT that it's a long trip for me, but I'm confused about how if you lose connection your internet is fine! I occasionally lose my connection, but that means my internet is not fine. It has blipped out. It doesn't happen often, but now and then it will just go in and out for about 30 seconds and then be OK. But when my internet is blipping in and out, my connection is also blipping in and out.
Like I said, being confused is not a long trip for me, so maybe I'm missing something here!

I forget, are you on WiFi or do you use an ethernet cable to connect to your computer?

With an ethernet cable, your connection should be constant. I have WiFi and when it drops out, the WiFi icon in the lower left will change to a globe where there is no WiFi. With the ethernet cable connection, open Settings and click on Network & internet. Check your Ethernet connection status at the top of the screen. It should say connected.
I doubt your ethernet cable is the problem, but it's not impossible. Does it have to run a long way to get to your computer? They say 100 meters for a Cat5 cable which is what I'm sure yours is. But that can even depend on temperature with high temps degrading signal strength.
