Good Thursday morning. The WADDB is particularly satisfying this morning. We seem to have gotten some very, very light rain last night. I don't think it amounted to much though.
Our tree trimmer gave us an estimate of $2000 for all the work that needs to be done. In particular one of the electrical lines that comes from the transformer on the road is overgrown with nut tree branches.
League bowling tonight.

Good Morning soot, connie, Fogfighter, Draclvr and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. Soot I hope all goes well with getting everything repaired. Connie congrats on winning a round and a free drink! Must have been fun for Robert too! Fogfighter sounds like a nice temp for a walk. Draclvr your estimate sounds about right for the tree trimming. It cost me over $2,000 to take down one huge maple tree close to the house and leaning toward it. It was dying and needed to come down before it fell. Hope you all enjoy a great Friday! Gerry

T.G.I.F. good morning Connie Fogfighter Gerry Draclvr Hagatha OldBroad and all who follow. Enjoy your manicure Connie. I enjoyed a cool morning walk but not looking forward to this afternoon's temps which may feel like 100+ F. Grocery shopping is on my schedule but will enjoy a cup of WADDB and a bagel first. Enjoy your day everyone ![[Linked Image]](https://www.gameboomers.com/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/wave2.gif)

Good Friday morning. Just put out another half gallon of sugar water this morning for the remaining hummers. There are fewer every day as the migration is in full swing.
We have a new bowler on our team and she showed up last night because she forgot to check the schedule. So I offered to let her bowl and said I would go home and have a beer on my pool deck. They all said they wanted to come with me! So I sent them a picture of my beer on the table on the deck looking over the pasture. I got some laugh emojis and Doris flipped me off!
So I'm sitting there and up come 4 deer - 3 does and a fawn we call Zoomie. They were heading for the peaches and pears on the ground which is only about 10 feet away. Then I saw a HUGE set of antlers coming up from behind the pond. It was a very big buck and he was followed by two younger bucks with small antlers - maybe 4 - 6 points. The big buck headed right for the mama doe and the two younger bucks were romancing the other does. Zoomie left mama doe and went over by the others. There wasn't any hanky panky under the pear tree, but the fall rut is obviously getting under way!
What a thrill!

Good afternoon everyone.
Alas, Dude caught a lovely male Rufus hummingbird yesterday. I guess I can't have flowers or feeders in my garden. He's just too good a hunter.
My fence keeps the deer mostly at bay but I have to use a deterrent spray to keep them off my green acer in the front. They're everywhere here, too. Fortunately most people are careful driving along our narrow, curvy road, because a deer can pop out of the trees at any moment.
The Stellar sea lions are back and barking away on the haul-outs. Down on the beach you can see them swimming. They are a welcome sight, unless you live close to the haul-out, in which case they're smelly and noisy and unwanted. At my end of the peninsula, they aren't a problem.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
