The letters of the answer to the first part of the clue can be transposed to form the answer of the second half of the clue. If you find the first part of the clue is elusive then switch to the second part and work your way backwards Example: transpose a garment into a tiresome person -> robe - bore The solutions are 5 to 8 letter words. = 1. Transpose pertaining to a parent into fatherhood [hint: parents into fatherly] = 2. Transpose enroll into a tree decoration = 3. Transpose a lifetime devotee into a weapon = 4. Transpose a towel's function into dreadful = 5. Transpose a singer into dwells there = 6. Transpose rhythmic walking into a trinket = 7. Transpose a country's former capital into its current capital = 8. Transpose next to into a one cell critter = 9. Transpose a monster into moistening meat 10. Transpose more capable into redden > > > > "Uncle!" on #10

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
