Good Monday morning. Sweatshirt weather again this morning and the WADDB is perfect.
It was nice, but I'm glad the bridal shower is over. So much SITTING for 3 hours! And like I said I didn't know anyone but the bride to be and her daughter. I did get to sit and talk with her mom who is in a wheelchair and her grandma who lives in a brand new senior apartment building and provided the big room it was held in. You wouldn't think it, but I was exhausted when I got home - from sitting around! So we ordered pizza for supper.

Happy Monday everybody! Yes, sitting around does wear a person out. I know from experience That's all I do and I always feel exhausted. Have a good day all!

Moanday Monday everyone ... woke up to a cool 60 degrees this morning and a gorgeous moon. Enjoyed a cup of WADDB, a nice walk and topped it off with bagels and donuts. Morning dishes are done and now it's time to move on to the next tasks for the day. Have a great day everyone

Good afternoon everyone.
Our weather here has cooled considerably and there's a pleasant breeze off the ocean. I've gone to my morning paperwork done and now I'm off to my neighbour's house to water her plants. Then I think I'll sit outside in my garden with my book or perhaps my Steam Deck and enjoy the afternoon sun.

The UK weather in my area has recently mainly been rain (and for which I’m extremely grateful) but the temperature differences have been something else ….
Two weeks ago reaching 30C …. whilst this week we can expect 16C !!

Mad, the weather here is weird, too. Last week was very hot and this week is cool. I had to shut the door this afternoon because the breeze was too cold.
I just got a quote and plan for updating my little stream and pond. The stream and waterfall part is already lovely, but the pond is just a pond, no plants, no fish, just boring water that gets dirty and needs to be emptied out all the time for cleaning, and it's surrounded by inappropriate boring plants. The new plan turns the pond into a dry riverbed and the water runs underneath and comes up through a bowl waterfall. They're going to add lights and new landscaping and a couple of water plants. It's going to be really beautiful. Very exciting.

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, Draclvr, oldbroad, soot, hagatha, Mad and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark brew is ready...I've been up a while...I think the bright moon doesn't help! I've got the chilly weather too...a relief from the hot humid days of last week. It really feels like fall. Draclvr if I sit to long I get stiff and tired...I feel like the "tinman" in the Wizard of Oz...need to oil my joints! Hagatha your plan for a new water display sounds lovely. Hope you all enjoy a great day! Gerry

Good Tuesday morning. Same old cool, beautiful, DRY weather.
Soot, download the Merlin app from Cornell University. When I'm sitting outside on the pool deck or going for a walk down to the woods, I put my phone in my pocket with the app running. It identifies every bird it hears. I can't tell the difference between the calls of the Red Shouldered Hawk and the Red Tailed Hawk, but Merlin can. Last night while we were watching 5 deer, it heard a Pileated Woodpecker, a Red Bellied Woodpecker, a Hairy Woodpecker and a Downy Woodpecker among many other birds!

You know, I have Merlin on my phone and just never remember to use it. It's a great app.

Great idea Draclvr. I have the app but never thought to just open it and let it record while I was walking.

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, soot, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! I did not know of the Cornell University app...I will have to check for it. We are really chilly here this morning going to need a sweatshirt to walk...may get a shower later...high in the 60s, but no sunshine today. Happy Hump Day! Gerry

Good morning all, here is a thought for the day I thought many of you might appreciate: in any event have a good day! https://blogger.googleusercontent.c...GKrnhJoBDnysS5Bxfx2B/s1056/IMG_9161.jpegAnd on a different front, I could use any prayers or supportive thoughts you can spare as I start a four week course of radiotherapy on Monday to hopefully entirely cure prostate cancer. The prognosis appears positive, but luck inevitably plays a big part and although I am not a church goer I am Christian in outlook and I do believe in the power of collective supportive thought including that labelled as prayer. Actually, it is probably my wife who needs the support more than I do: she is worrying more than enough for both of us whereas I am fairly pragmatic about the situation, apart from worrying about her worrying about me...

Good Wednesday morning. Lex, I definitely learned to speak Bloodhound! My positive thoughts and vibes heading your way.
OK, soot... I'm confused! Who is Mike?!
Grocery store run today. Plus a stop at the vet for a 6 pound bag of special urinary care cat food that costs $50!
Deer watching on the pool deck was neat again last night. Two bucks, one a nice 6-pointer and one just a spike buck. And six does and little Zoomie! They have cleaned up most of the pears and peaches under the trees.

Good afternoon everybody. Lex, love the thought for the day link. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for you and your wife. I would not have known who "Mike" is either, Drac. I hope you each enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone.
Lex, my thoughts are with you and your wife. Hearing the word "cancer" from your doctor is heart-stopping, and cancer is such a beast. Hopefully the treatments will slay it once and for all. Stay positive.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
