Thank you all for your kind and supportive word: it is indeed daunting to be diagnosed with the big C, but it appears that this is probably one of the better options within the genre in terms of being successfully treatable if caught before it spreads anywhere else within the body, and even if not totally cured by radiotherapy it can be reduced and held in check virtually indefinitely with hormone therapy (apparently even if it has started to spread): essentially, if it is caught and treated when you are in your 70s or later, something else will almost certainly kill you before this will!

Good morning, Danish, Donuts, and Bagels in the Break Room. Soot, once the pond is established the fish feed off the plants and algae. We do throw fish food in sometimes. I was told never feed the fish when the weather is extremely cold, they can't digest it. I guess the vegetation and algae is easier for them to digest. Gerry, Birthday Cupcakes in the Break Room. Good Thursday morning. Nice cool morning, but hoo boy! Summer's last gasp is here. Saturday is forecast to be 97 degrees F followed by a week of 95 degrees every day. Of course, I have signed up to work our first fall Wagon Day at the horse rescue Saturday! I mostly do the wagon rides to the back of the 165 acre property where I talk about Longmeadow. I hope there are other volunteers to take turns. You have to force your voice to speak to about 30 people in the wagon as it slowly is pulled down the lane. After 2 or 3 rides, my voice gives out!

Dental appointment at noon and league bowling tonight.

Put some laundry in and am heading out to start watering the tomatoes and peppers again. We are now officially in "significant drought."

We're having some rather lovely late summer days right now, warm and sunny but not too hot. It was actually cool enough last night that I had to shut the back door (much to the chagrin of the cats, who have become accustomed to wandering in and out at will). Of course, the days are now drawing in and it's dark by 8:30. We could really use some rain, though. My grass is looking pretty parched.

Good morning everyone. Enjoyed a great walk this morning and now enjoying WADDB and bagels. OldBroad, normal grocery run schedule is twice a week with an occasional 'I need this for tonight's dinner' run. Hope you get some rain to ease the drought Draclvr. Gaming with sons and grandsons today.
