Good Sunday morning. I think I have recovered from yesterday. Yes, it reached 97 degrees F. And for some reason, we had a huge crowd down at Longmeadow for the Wagon Day. I would have thought people would stay home in their AC! I'm guessing at least 150 people ventured out. The brace on my knee helped enormously and I didn't have any trouble all day even though I clocked just over 3 miles of walking. But I was a tired puppy!
Then they called to about 7:00 to see if I could do the night closing as the caretaker who lives there wrenched his back. So at 9, I headed back down! It was a mere 90 degreees at 9:00! But I only had 3 older guys and Bubbles the Zebu to feed. Because it's so hot I did have to carry water to several horses in the older barns without automatic waterers. I slept late this morning!
Think I'll take the day off!

Draclvr, that was a long day! No wonder you slept well.
I woke up to rain this morning. We really need it. It isn't a huge downpour, but it's obviously been going on all night because the water level in my pond has gone up. And it's cold! I can't leave the door open. I guess summer is pretty much over.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Draclvr, it's time to put your feet up & maybe let hubby serve you a nice cold drink.
hagatha; you can send some of that rain our way please, it's 82F again today.
Have a great day everyone & stay safe out there.

Good Monday morning! Thank you for the birthday wishes, everyone! Don't know how I feel about 78 though!
And thank you for the chocolate birthday cake, Gerry! But I will leave it for everyone else to enjoy along with their WADDB. Somehow I was born without the chocolate gene!
Oooo... a mere 93 degrees today. And like this every day until MAYBE Friday. Blech.

Happy Birthday, Draclvr. Remember; getting old is better than the alternative. Oldbroad, that chicken coconut salad looks really nice. I might try that. I think I've finally found a cat sitter so I can do some travelling before I'm too old. She comes recommended by my veterinarian, the vet tech who does Willow's claws, and my Pilates instructor. I'm hoping to do a trip next year with a dear friend who has been battling cancer for years.

Yes! Oldbroad, forgot to tell you, I have bookmarked that salad. Sounds really good.
Perfect that you have found a cat sitter! Do that traveling before you can't!

Good Tuesday morning. Yes, I took my body aside and had a word. It didn't listen either!
Ooo.. a mere 90 degrees F today. I've had to start watering the perennial beds... I had shrubs that were dying. I have some huge arborvitaes which I'm going to have to take a soaker hose to also. They need a lot of water and I don't want them going into winter thirsty.
I still put out a quart of hummingbird food every couple of days. What I have now are the travelers on their way through heading south for the migration.

Good Afternoon.
I just got back from an appointment with a physiotherapist clutching two pages of exercises for my back and right shoulder. In my head I'm still 40 years old. Then I get out of bed and reality hits.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning connie, Mad, soot, Draclvr, hagatha, oldbroad, Fogfighter and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! The only thing that helps me physically at my age is getting out and walking every day while I still can. It helps me both mentally and physically to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful countryside. I've lived in the same house we built back in 1969...56 years ago! Not much has changed in my small town...we are surrounded by State Forest and farmland...walking on country roads is quiet and peaceful. Hope you all enjoy a Happy Hump Day! Gerry
