Good Wednesday morning. Oh, joy... 94 degrees F again today. Blech.

I've lived in my old farmhouse on 10 acres surrounded by oak and hickory forest for almost 33 years. I basically gutted it and remodeled and restored it myself. I did have professionals put in all new electric and plumbing, but I pretty much did all the rest. I am ready to leave this house though. Farmhouses built back in 1900 were nothing but steps everywhere and we have no bedroom downstairs. I want to build something on the back of the property on ONE level! But hubby is convinced he is bullet proof.

Bottling up my next batch of fermented hot sauce today. I'm going to cold smoke the next batch for a smoked pepper hot sauce.

Way back when...I had a couple horses and we use to trail ride in the state forest and thru the farmland...it was wonderful! I am so grateful it has not been built up around us...our neighborhood is built on a non-thru street...no traffic expect for the neighbors...we all look out for each other too.

Good Thursday morning. Supposedly the last day of this mid-90's heat. I will not be sorry to see it go. Along with the drought, everything is crispy and brown. Blech.

Had a routine doctor's appointment today, but got a call that she will not be in. When I tried to reschedule, they said first available was in FEBRUARY! They are going to call me back to try to figure something out.

There's a definite chill in the air these days, morning and evening. I had my fire on for most of the day yesterday.

My friend and I are planning a trip for early next year. Everything depends on where the flights land on the way, but one that looks promising is a National Geographic tour to the Galapagos. Both of us were reminded of just how much John would have loved the trip.

Winter is coming. There was heavy rain. And now it's pitch black outdoors

Good morning, Danish, Donuts and Bagels in the Break Room. Soot, I miss the smell of Orangs blossoms in the air. We had groves behind the two homes we've lived in. All the groves are gone now. Enjoy the day and hug someone.

Good Friday morning. I thought it was just last Friday a few minutes ago!

On the way home from the bowling alley, the wind was gusting to the point where I had trouble keeping my little truck on the road! I was pummeled back and forth. On the winding country road it was worse. There were piles of leaves and sticks and branches everywhere. When I finally got home, the power was off - probably a tree had fallen on a power line. I have a battery backup, so I still had internet. I powered up my laptop and looked up the outage. There were only 102 people out and we were right in the middle. Power finally came back on at 6 am!

At least that horrid 95 degree F weather was blown away. I'm not ready for winter like you have Fogfighter, but I'm sure ready for nice warm fall days. Of course, no rain and we are now in what is officially a worse significant drought.

Well, winter is not really here yet. I was just saying it will come. Anyway, winter or summer, WADDB is always welcome.

Galapagos sounds like an amazing one in a life journey. Never been there and proably never will but would love to make that trip.
I think I read Vonnegut book titled Galapagos. A bit depressing story he made up there and not on the must-read-again list.
Still in my bookshelf tough.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, OldBroad, Fogfighter, Draclvr, Hagatha and all who follow. Roofers here yesterday repairing roof deck, soffit, facia and patching roof until (hopefully) we can get the same shingles. Our shingles are only 4 years old so keeping fingers crossed the manufacturer still makes them. Else we'll just match as close as possible. We haven't had rain in quite some time, which was great given we had a 4 inch hole in our roof and think the forecast says rain later next week. Draclvr, hopefully that wind doesn't blow that hot weather down here. Time to enjoy a second cup of WADDB and bagels before I'm off for groceries this morning.

Good Saturday morning. I had to run in town this morning to get my COVID and flu vaccinations. SO glad to have that done. Hubby went in and got his too which is critical for him.

Kinda toasty today, but 90 degrees F seems balmy compared to those temps pushing 100! Already have the hose moved to start watering more plants.

Working up the last 30 pounds of tomatoes today. Think I'm going to make some pizza sauce.

Fingers crossed that the predicted rain actually arrives today. It's been terribly dry, and our community has been at Water Restriction level 4 for months now. Not much going on otherwise. I'm off for a walk shortly and then making my Dutch oven roast chicken, which is basically a LOT of garlic cloves and some veg with a chicken on top and some broth. I have some rosemary from the garden to throw in, too.

Good Sunday morning. Still toasty and sunny and dry here. I'll be dragging hoses around to water again today.

Hubby and I both got our COVID and flu vaccines yesterday. I never get any reaction other than a sore arm, but he has felt like crud for a day in the past. So far, so good though!

Nothing on the agenda except finishing up my pizza sauce and getting it canned.

Maybe time for a little gaming!

We had a good downpour last night, enough rain to completely water the garden and then some. Once it's all dry later today I'll do my last lawn mow of the season.

Otherwise, I'm going to look through my games and pick something to play. I think it might be time to revisit Cyberpunk, since I haven't played it with the DLC. Nothing better; a nice fire, a cup of tea, and my Steam Deck. And probably a large cat in my lap.
