One/two lines from a well-known(?) song. What's the song? (And, for a bonus, what's the next line?)
One answer per person for the first 24 hrs please...
-1. Don't go talking too loud, you'll cause a landslide -2. He tipped his hat and took a seat -3. Oh, that cement is just, it's there for the weight, dear -4. Though I know that evening's empire has returned into sand -5. Didn't mean to treat her so bad, she was the best girl I ever have had -6. As she sewed, she told a story from the Bible, she had read -7. There's a blaze of light in every word -8. It's seven o'clock and I want to rock -9. I keep a close watch on this heart of mine -10. Sometimes we'll sigh, sometimes we'll cry -11. Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone -12. Messages keeps gettin' clearer
To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

5. Hi Rog, I think it's from Far Behind by the Candlebox, but, I can only find 'Didn't mean to treat her so bad', the other part 'she was the best girl I ever have had', does not seem to be in the lyrics.
What do you think?
