What do you think about disabling Fast Start Up? I have been reading a bit about it and am wondering if disabling it could be helpful with my BSOD's. I don't want to do it though if it can cause other problems.

Drac should be the one who weighs in on this, but interestingly when googling this I saw several mentions of Fast Startup and the fact that it can cause BSODs.

Disabling fast startup might help you or not. I had to do it some time ago when I was trouble shooting an issue and I never noticed it doing anything sketchy. Give it a try and see if it helps. If you don't notice any change, you and always re-enable it.

Thanks. I think I will try it as long as it can't hurt something else.

Marian, I did not actually see that it can cause BSOD's but what I read really made me think it could be an issue, something about drivers and kernels. My very non-tech self feels I have a problem that has to do with my network something or other.

It's not going to hurt anything to try it!

I changed it so I'll just have to wait and see. I don't get the BSOD at any particular time. Sometimes once a week, sometimes maybe more. Once I think I went about a month without one. I do keep a sloppy scribbled record, so if two months go by without one, I might think it helped. Fingers crossed!
