I don't have pictures in my walk throughs. I get a little blank square where the pic should be and that can be said for all the walk throughs I've looked at.

Hi, fredaz. Yes, we are aware of the picture links no longer working. Due to modern browsers having much better security, most will block the photos in the older walkthroughs here at GB. We have figured out a workaround for any future walkthroughs, but I'm afraid the task of redoing all the old ones would just be too daunting.

You might read through this thread in our Glitches forums for some ways to see the pictures. At one point, they were visible in the Firefox browser, but I'm not sure if that's true any more.

Hi fredaz, in case you are using Firefox you can try to add www.gameboomers.com to the exception list of the HTTPS-only mode. At least this works for me.
To do so, go to Firefox Settings. Then type https into the 'Find in Settings' search field, and select the field 'Manage Exceptions...' in section 'HTTPS-Only Mode'. Then insert www.gameboomers.com into the address field and select the 'Turn Off' button. To be on the safe side restart the browser and test whether the pictures will be shown.

I'm not sure whether other browsers also allow to configure exceptions. As HTTPS is an important security feature the automatic HTTPS mode should only be switched off for sites you can fully trust.

I can see the pictures in the walkthroughs without changing any setting in Firefox but then, my Gameboomers main page (and every page except the Forum page) shows "not secure" in the address bar. Unless I changed something in the past and don't remember doing it. ??

Yeah, you must have changed something if it says "not secure" in the address bar. Gameboomers is "https" in the first part which is more secure than "http."

I hope you're right, Drac. I sure don't remember ever changing anything or know what would have prompted me to do so. You know I am not one to fiddle with stuff like that. I had been doing a copy and paste of the walkthroughs to a word doc and was then able to see the pictures. duh

Edit: I actually just went and checked my Firefox settings following the above instructions and I did not ever do that. It appears to be set as the default setting. No exceptions are entered.

Hi oldbroad, I assume that the HTTPS-Only mode is not enabled in your Firefox, otherwise Firefox should switch automatically to the https version of gameboomers.
You can check it in the Firefox settings looking for 'HTTPS-Only mode'. The secure setting is: 'Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows'. I assume that in your case it is set to 'Don't enable HTTPS-Only Mode'.

I seem to remember that changing the security setting to "Don't enable HTTPS-only mode" was being tried by a few people to see the picture in the walk-throughs. I remember trying it on my computer, but changed it right back.

You are correct, adv4ever, but it is not a setting I did. It apparently defaulted to that. I don't go in and check my settings very often. I don't seem to have other websites being a problem and saying "not secure". I'll change it though to be safe. Thank you!

I'll continue as I was, copy and paste to a word doc. I can see the pictures then.
