Good morning everyone.
It'll be another nothing day for me. I just need to make sure that Dude is in before the fireworks start. Good day for gaming, though, and I've discovered that an old favourite game works perfectly on the Steam Deck, so once the tidying and laundry is done, I'll fire it up.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Wednesday morning. We have two front row seats to staying home tonight! I am going to make a nice dinner for us... Chicken Modiga. It's the first nice meal I ever made for hubby... He had asked me if I could cook. LOL! Then he said he didn't like Italian food. LOL again! That was 26 years ago. The dish is a simple chicken breast pounded thin, coated in bread crumbs and browned. Then mushrooms and a lot of garlic is sauteed and chicken broth, dry white wine and lemon juice is added to make a sauce. A thin slice of proscuitto and a slice of provolone cheese is added to the top of the breasts and the whole thing is put in the oven for about 1/2 hour. Will make a simple garlic and butter pasta to go with it.
Connie, your night sounds like so much fun! I doubt we both will make it to midnight, but I might!
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve!

Good afternoon everyone; we've received so much snow & we're not even into January. The wind rows are up to my shoulders, granted I'm only 5ft. tall but still. Now today we are under a freezing rain warning & it's 18F outside. I'm spending the afternoon making apple pies & tonight it's jammies, my bed & a good book. Happy New Years everyone.

We are going to be getting a whole bunch more rain the next five to six days, starting this afternoon. We will be spending New Year's Eve having burgers and fries (my son is doing the cooking, and the fries will be fresh not frozen.) The rest of the day, at least for the most part, will be spent taking walks and gaming. Then, like judith, it will be jammies, bed, and a good book. to all.

I'm making myself a 1970s style Prawn Cocktail !! Love them Then I'll have a Bakewell Tart (made by my youngest Daughter) with fresh double cream poured across the top. And afterwards .. if still hungry .. a small-ish cheeseboard selection "for one". It's extremely cold here and snow is threatened by the end of the week Happy New Year's Eve, everyone !!

Happy New Year! Here we go, 2026! Your corned beef and cabbage sounds wonderful, Gerry! I think you're supposed to eat some kind of cabbage on New Year's Day to attract money! Another one is Black Eyed Peas on New Years Day for luck and prosperity in the new year. I'm making a pot of Texas Style Black Eyed Peas, a recipe I got from member Melia many years ago.

Happy New Year everyone.
Mad, the mother of one of my boyfriends back in university used to make Bakewell Tart. Delicious. John and I went to Bakewell on one of our trips long ago.
My New Year's dinner was a salad and a chicken sausage butty, with sausage from the local farm market and a nice whole wheat roll. It's not my typical meal but it appealed and had the advantage of being simple to make.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

OK, I tried to find out what a chicken sausage "butty" is, but got no satisfactory answers, hagatha!

Corned Beef and Cabbage is a wonderfully tasty dish, Kaki's Sister, and I love it !! [But never cooked or even tasted Black EyedPeas, Draclvr ๐] And hagatha, your "butty" sounded scrumptious !! There are two "Bakewells" BTW .. Bakewell Tart and Bakewell pudding .. [ https://www.bakewellpuddingshop.co.uk/bakewell-pudding-and-tart-differenc ] [I've only ever made the tarts myself.] But have tasted both ๐

New day new year! I have never heard about the cabbage money attracting trick. Must try that coming years. Apparently the champagne bubble trick doesn't work that well. Mayhaps it works the other way around. The bubbles making the money disappear Anyway. The new year started with no drama but new snow. So far so good. Happy New Year's first day Gameboomers!

Draclvr, a butty is just another word for sandwich. John was English so I picked up some of the lingo. The sausages are made of chicken and pork and there was some cheese in there, too, a local mild cheese, Also herbs. Delicious. Fogfighter, I think you're correct; the bubbles do make the money vanish, along with inhibitions and good sense.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone! Starting the new year without resolutions just like Gerry. As Hagatha pointed out the bubbles didn't only remove the $ but also inhibitions and good sense. Got to make do with WADDB and plenty of snow. That's ok too. Happy first Friday GameBoomers!

Good Friday morning. No snow here, but the WADDB is perfect for this cold January morning.
Zero on the agenda today and taking a break from cooking anything! Lots of leftovers which is a good thing.

Good morning everyone.
It'll be another rainy day so I'll finish clearing out the study in preparation for the built-in office shelving, which should be happening in the next week or so.
The pond company started up the pond a couple of weeks ago and the water vanished again within about 5 days. Since they replaced the entire liner, the water is clearly splashing out somewhere else. They've been closed for a couple of weeks but on Monday I'll start bugging them.
I have noticed that all of the many reviews of this company are 4 and 5-starss, except for the one 1 Star review, and it was also an existing pond that was expanded and leaked.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
