I do have the paid version. I've never noticed it going crazy like that though and I don't know if it was maybe triggered by my updating my video drivers and then the Telemetry thing started. I don't know. I'll keep an eye on it. These weird things always happen around 2 - 3 am. Except my hiccup; that is somewhere between 8:30 and 9 pm these days but doesn't hurt anything. Just minimizes the game I may be playing. If I'm not playing, I don't see anything happen.

I have the paid version too and I've never seen this behavior from Malwarebytes. But from the searches I did, it seems like it's not uncommon. Your computer is just weird!

"Your computer is just weird!" I've been telling you that but you just keep thinking I'm putting eCollege down. I'm not. Just this computer.

1) As for your Malwarebytes not seeming to work, reboot or restart your computer, when all is up and running you should see the blue Malwarebytes icon on your taskbar if it is activated in your taskbar functions. Once you get that fixed, right click on your MB icon and on the pop up click on Update and follow instructions if needed.

2) If it is not a hardware issue as suggested by Trail_Mystic awhile back, then the other solution and it is not a fun one but one that could help is to back up everything you want to keep, etc. and then do a Fresh Install of Windows.

3) Good luck

Hi Starcom. My Malwarebytes works fine. It was just that Malwarebytes Service that shows in my Task Manager seemed to have flipped out last night. Also, there will be no Fresh Installs done here. shame12

Thank you for trying to help!

What?! I don't think I've ever said anything about you putting eCollegePC down! And I certainly don't remember saying anything to give you that impression, so I'm not sure where that came from! I've just been frustrated that I can't find a quick solution to your problems. They all seem somewhat complicated. NONE of which have anything to do with who built the computer.

I agree with you... no fresh installs here! That would be something you take it to a computer repair shop to do!

Can't remember the wording Drac, but a few times I've mentioned that this is the worst computer I've had and it seemed like you thought I meant something against eCollege. Maybe just another mis-understanding. We do seem to have trouble sometimes with our communications and I don't mean anything bad by that!

No problem, oldbroad! I went through this whole post and couldn't find anything I said to give that impression. I have zero allegiance to eCollegePC. I recommend them ONLY because of the customer service. They can mess up just like everyone else.
