I read about this change this morning. The comment section of the article has many people voicing their opinions about potential pros and cons. It doesn't sound like a bad thing to me.

Thanks, Ana and ob!

I really didn't understand much of what I read so I wouldn't know if it's a good or bad thing. shocked

Thanks, oldbroad and Ana. Very interesting. I spend some time reading through the comments and found they might be operating on ancient outdated software and the whole place needs an upgrade. That concerns me as sometimes that goes well and sometimes it doesn't! But if this keeps GOG afloat, then whatever it takes! I hope this doesn't mean that CD PROJEKT RED won't release any more games. The Witcher games are among my favorites.

I’d say that the 3 bullet points in the statement sound extremely reassuring:

- GOG stays DRM-free.
- GOG GALAXY remains optional.
- We’ll keep games playable over time, revive classics properly, and stick to gamer-friendly policies.

I think that this is what makes GOG so great, and they obviously know that it’s what the players want.
