As the new year approaches, many will welcome it with revelry and laughter and sparkling drinks as they watch the ball drop.

Also for many there will be moments of quiet reflection and remembrance. I found this short poem and I'm sorry I can't credit the author because I'm so grateful for the message:

As the year gently closes,
I pause for the hearts I still carry.
For the faces I no longer see,
and the memories that walk with me
into every new season.
Love remains - soft, steady, unforgettable.

That brought instant tears to my eyes, Pandora. Change "year" to "day" and it is what happens every night for me.
