You may remember that a long time ago, in 2008, an adventure game called Limbo of the Lost surrounded itself in infamy once it was discovered that most of its backgrounds and other assets were plagiarized from other games, leading to it being taken off the shelves. Besides the plagiarism, the game also suffered from a plethora of other issues, like bugs, unskippable cutscenes, tedious walking back and forth, and so on, thus quickly earning itself the place among the lists of worst games of all time. However, in recent years, people begun to develop an ironic appreciation for the game's oddball nature, its quirky atmosphere, and bizarre characters and puzzles. They have noted that if it wasn't for the stolen assets and poor design, the game could actually be fun. Well, replacing the stolen assets would be far too great of an undertaking, but fixing the poor design was actually reasonably achievable. This is where the Enhanced Edition comes in. Intended to fix the game and make it a lot more playable, Limbo of the Lost: Enhanced Edition makes numerous improvements to the game, including but not limited to: - Over 1300 new voicelines for Briggs.
- A proper Options menu.
- Fast Travel Maps for every Chapter.
- A Journal listing your current objectives.
- A Chapter Select.
- Skippable cutscenes.
- The SENSE interaction and the Seal of Sufferance now provide hints.
- An optional in-game walkthrough.
- Optional behind-the-scenes notes listing stolen assets and the changes in each room.
- Fixed random crashes on Windows 8/10/11.
- Cleaned up the audio of all voicelines.
Additional information and download links are available on the game's wiki: https://lotl.fandom.com/wiki/Enhanced_Edition

Wow !! I certainly remember this game and all the hullabaloo about it - even though I did enjoy playing it despite everything !! π Anyway, I've made a small donation to buy the enhanced version, have downloaded and installed it, and played the first few scenes .... and it is SO much improved Thank you, MrTophat π

It can be downloaded for free - but a donation is welcomed - so I made a small one The developers were in touch with me throughout the creating of the game - mainly by telephone and email - and on it's release they sent me a personalised, boxed copy and also a small "mysterious" metal artifact - as a thank you π Both of which I still have. I had no idea until the public outcry started that anything untoward had happened during the making of the game so it was all a massive shock !!!!

I take it this is a free release? Absolutely, it's a free modified version of the game. The developers were in touch with me throughout the creating of the game - mainly by telephone and email - and on it's release they sent me a personalised, boxed copy and also a small "mysterious" metal artifact - as a thank you π Both of which I still have. This is very intriguing! Would you be willing to share some photos of that copy and artifact?

Sorry, MrTophat, but as these were personal gifts I don't wish to broadcast them to the web - as I'm sure you'll understand

Like too many games I have a copy in my collection but never played it. Sounds like I should give it a go π
Quantity has a quality all of its own

Yes. I am steadily progressing, and enjoying myself, but definitely still do need a hint now and then π I had forgotten how some parts are quite a bit more difficult. But then it IS an Adventure game !! π€

I will reply here in case my email does not reach Mad.
I was informed that there might be an issue with the save menu, where after a certain point there are no more empty slots.
If someone runs into this issue, please answer a few questions:
- Are you able to scroll through the slots with the up/down arrows or the scroll wheel? - Are you still able to overwrite previous saves? - How many saves did you make? At present, the save menu allows up to 100 save slots. I've replied to your email, MrTophat, but will repeat some bits here as well : 1. Yes. I can move through the saves using both the arrows and the scroll wheel - but only only until the facility of "being able to record a new save" ends. After that I have to use the "Quick" keys .. F5 and F8 2. I did try overwriting the very fist save I made - and that did work and I could re-load and use the save. 3. I've only used 11 saves so far. [ So in theory should have another 89 available ]

Yes. I can move through the saves using both the arrows and the scroll wheel - but only only until the facility of "being able to record a new save" ends. I assumed at first that the issue is that upon opening the save menu, the list is always scrolled all the way to the top (which is something I will fix in the next update), but reading this, I'm again left confused. You should definitely be able to scroll through the list all the way down to the 100th slot. Is that not the case? If not, then just to be certain, are you playing on Windows?
