Hi all I searched this forum but did not see this game listed in Hints etc... I got stuck early on with the Joe's ToolBox puzzle - I even followed whatever I could find on the Internet but I cannot get the box opened. I would be grateful if anyone can point me to the solution ! I am not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about this game yet. I hope someone can help -- maybe even give me a reason to continue playing it.

There is at least one video walkthrough on the internet that shows you the solution. The one I am thinking of can be found here.I haven't played the game yet, but it certainly has many fans.

Ok Marian - thank you.. I just checked that link out and it seems to address this puzzle better that the ones I could find. I will give it a "go" !
The game looks like it has potential - I will stick with it and see how it goes.
Thank you !!!

Hi All I am stuck at the puzzle where Penelope has to remove rust from the object she found at Speedy's. I have all the items I need to clean it and I even tried following the walkthrough Marian posted - which is very good.
I am having issue with trying save a game and the trying to load the most recent game .. When I name game to be saved, and try to load it later.. the game I named does not appear -- I need to load the AutoSave. It is almost like there is a limit to saved game slots. Not sure about this - but that would really hinder progress.
Anyway - If any of you are playing this and got past that "rust" puzzle, I would like to hear from you .
The game is very linear and my next step depends on solving this puzzle.
Than you !

Hi sureshot, I can only direct you to walkthroughs, as you know. Maybe someone else can chime in here. About your save/load issue (or other questions), you could try reaching out to the developer as well. She can be contacted this way:

Thank you very much Marian - I will make that contact !
Hi oldbroad - I have been running into this issue for a few days now. I play the game for a while and decide to leave, so I save the game at some point and name my save. When I return to the game, that "save" does not appear in the list...but there is an AutoSave that brings me back to about where I left off. Also.. if you are working a puzzle, and back out of the screen, the puzzle resets back to the beginning ! Ouch !
I think my next trick is to find out where they are saved and maybe delete the older ones, or move them into another folder. It is very odd ...almost a puzzle in itself.
I hope the contact Marian supplied pans out, in the meantime, I am going to press on.

Good luck, sureshot. I was looking at some of the Steam discussions and did find this for where the save files should be:
"If either of you have the time, could you go into your file explorer (assuming you're on PC) and go to C>Users>Your username>AppData>LocalLow>Default Cube Games>Penelope Pendrick and The Art of Deceit.
In that folder there should be a .txt file called "output_log". If you could email that to me at (her email address here) that would be AMAZING. Thank you
This is also where your save files should be living, so let me know if you don't see any other files in this folder."
The developer was looking into some save issue. This was back in November. I didn't see anything saying where it was fixed or not.
Also, one of the posters said that they were only able to name their games as "save 2, save 3 etc".
