Wow, Marian. What a sad read! I miss the days of Paul Thelen. He was so awesome and I just loved working for him and Big Fish. This really stinks and it just gets worse with each sale of the company.

Ana, I miss Paul too: that is for sure! And he brought about what I consider now to have been the Renaissance era for casual games.

Okay, I read it. I don't know if I feel I should buy up all the games I want that I haven't bought yet or wish I hadn't spent so much money there already. I know the whole world will hear me ranting if I lose access to my games.

I don't know why they think getting rid of all the developers they already had is a good thing especially when it seems like more people have already been complaining about the type of games showing up, and cancelling their memberships. I don't have a clue about game development but you would think BF would keep the developers and go ahead with their plan to develop themselves also (if I understood that part right).

Regarding Steam, I always wondered why the games were cheaper there which I thought was weird but I did take advantage of it often. Can't the HOPA game developers go straight to Steam instead of closing their business if BF has ended contracts with them?

A HOPA developer putting their games up on Steam first could certainly be a possibility, although I don't know what the ins and outs of that are. Do/Domini Games does this now. There is also something now called Google Play, which has been getting 5 BN games and some other HOPAs earlier. I think it would also depend on what percentage would be needed by any given developer on each sale in order to continue to fund their game development and stay viable.

As I have said before, we will just have to wait and see how things go.

Well that explains why customer support has all but disappeared. Also of concern is the renewed emphasis on BFG Casino games. Not entirely unfamiliar to anyone who has visited what used to be the AG home page. Unfortunately, it also raises more questions than it answers.

Regarding some of OB's questions: unstated is what the developer's contracts say. It wouldn't surprise me if there were non-compete clauses involved. They might originally been used by BFG to keep renegade developers from searching for better distribution venues. Now those clauses might allow BFG to do the same thing, but for an entirely different reason.

We shall see what happens. But I doubt it will be good for casual game fans. I have seen first-hand how minor problems can escalate. I better get those 50 games downloaded!

It took about 10 days for me to get a reply to my inquiry but it was only to tell me that they didn't forget me. It was not an actual reply. My inquiry was not about a problem I'm having so I don't care (it was about some sale pricing). Just updating.

To put a bow om it. I finally heard from BFG regarding the email/password problem I reported about six weeks ago. Only unusual thing was that the email said to reply to bigfishgames.com if the problem remained unsolved, but the return address was Big Fish Games<support@bfgentertainment.zendesk.com> so it appears that the corporate curnover is complete.

Well, I am glad to hear that you got it sorted. Customer Support appears to be in a state of relative turmoil at this time, which I hope will be resolved before too long.

WOW! As if things couldn't possibly get worse ... they did. Very sad to read this and especially to see all the talented dev teams making the games I like being left to twist in the wind. Not good.

For what it's worth, there is an ongoing thread on the Big Fish Fans Facebook page, started by an employee of BF, asking for everyone to submit their comments, concerns and dissatisfaction about what is going on (including such things as game demo times being shortened - things both major and minor), and he will then submit all of it to the leadership team for consideration. This is the same individual who posted about Big Fish's plans for the upcoming year and what they are working on.

I honstly question whether devoting any energy to submitting comments to a facebook page would do any good. Certainly the "Leadership Team" is smart enough to know why people are pissed. Like you said, cutting demo times in half, raising prices, putting the screws to porular vendors, causing customer service times to grow from 72 hrs to six weeks is just a smattering of the problems BFG is facing under current leadership. And if Leadership is so dumb that they must be told why people are pissed, then it's time to shut the door and turn off the lights.

Yes, I figured that idea would ring hollow to many of those reading it. I think they are already aware of the changes that people are unhappy about; however, I do see it as at least a gesture to give people a place to vent, and, hopefully, they will do what they can at this point. This Facebook group has people who are liaisons/work with Big Fish monitoring it, so it is a better way to communicate with them overall, I believe.

I haven't seen all that much raising of prices, though, as I don't buy casual games from Steam. Maybe in a couple of instances. In general, I am paying the same prices that I was 10 years ago on Big Fish, which is more than I can say about pretty much anything else that I purchase.

Well prices at BF rose significantly for me (being in the UK) a long time ago 🙄

And that, together with all the current woes, is just encouraging me to carry on re-playing lots more of my “already bought” games !!

So it’s a good job I have zillions to go at ….

Me too, Mad. I too have zillions left to go. I have actually made some headway what with this relative drought of new HOPA releases, so it hasn't been all bad.

And of course, I have not forgotten that prices went up for customers in other countries quite a few years ago. That seemed to be the result of their having merged all the websites into one site rather than having multiple international BF websites as well, unfortunately.

I'm not a member of the BFG Fan section on Facebook. But perhaps somebody who is could just drop a link to this thread on the appropriate FB page. If they are really interested they could do their own investigation and compile a list of problems from the one we've already posted.
