Good Tuesday morning. Just dark and dreary here. Good grief, Gerry! You just can't catch a break with your weather! YUCK!

Plugging away at my taxes today. Every year I swear I'm going to pay someone else to do them!

Good morning everyone.

We're heading into some rain this week. I'm basically staying at home for a few days as one of my knees is acting up severely, though I did manage to limp around the neighbourhood yesterday for a little while just to keep it from freezing up.

Tax season is coming up on us, too. I do have a tax accountant, a left-over from when we had our rental properties. Now that it's just me I should probably switch to somebody local since my taxes are now fairly simple and the only documents I have to prepare are the health expenses not covered by insurance.

Gerry, I hope your weather improves. My mother lives in Hamilton Ontario and they've been buried under a heavy winter, too.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! wave

This morning we have icy roads and lots of accidents all over the state. It will warm up later and the ice should melt. For the next few days the weather will finally warm up. Rain is expected every day so the snow should finally start to melt, but more icy roads are expected Thursday night into Friday morning. winter

Today is my appointment with Frontier/Verizon to install fiber optic internet and phone service. I am keeping my landline. Hopefully all goes well.

Wishing you all a Great Day! wave

Happy Hump Day good morning to one and all! Gerry, we kept our land line too, but our land line no longer using our copper cable phone lines but the new internet fiber cables. So when we lose power we lose our phones... so we kept our cell phones for emergency. Be careful when you're out today. We'll get to taxes eventually. Time for WADDB and Bagels.

Have a wonderful day everyone wave

Good Wednesday morning. Thunder and rain this morning...

Got the taxes done and filed electronically yesterday. Whew! They have been accepted by both the Feds and the State. I'm always so glad to have that over with!

Roasted a whole chicken yesterday. Going to take all the meat off the bones and then roast the carcass in the oven. Will then put the roasted carcass with water, onions, carrots and celery to slow simmer all day to make a fantastic broth. Maybe chicken noodle soup!

Good morning everyone.

Not much going on today, apart from yet another call with Dell Service.

I did manage to migrate all of John's email to my gmail account, so mine is next, after I delete everything that I no longer need. Once that's done I can switch over to Telus and Fibre Optic, and no more webmail.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone; Good luck with contacting Dell - again hagatha, I'm sure your patience is running thin. Heading to the doctor this afternoon, my arthritis has been very bad lately & when that happens my heart acts up. At least I have my programs on this evening, Survivor & then Chicage Med, Fire & Pd. That brings me up to midnight.

There's lots of ice & snow out there so stay safe, this winter has been pretty nasty.

Early morning in Europe.

Chilly nights but Mrs Sun is warming things up. Still snow on ground.

Good luck with the medical appointments and laptop drama and broth cooking and tax drama.
Tax season is beginning over here too real soon now.

Emergency use instant coffee available in the break room for any early birds or late owls.

Happy Thursday GameBoomers!

Good Morning connie, soot, Draclvr, hagatha, judith, Mad, Fogfighter and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark brew is ready. wave

Connie by 10am yesterday the sun had melted the worst of the ice and the day warmed up into the 50s! spring I went for an afternoon walk with a sweatshirt on instead of a winter jacket...no need for hat or gloves! Soot when they installed the fiber optic yesterday they also installed a battery back up for my landline service in case I lose power. I have a cell phone I keep charged too.

Draclvr, my mom made her own homemade chicken broth and homemade noodles made from scratch...it made a delicious soup! smile Hagatha hope your call with Dell went okay yesterday. Judith hope you doctor appointment was helpful...I enjoy watching Survivor too.
Fogfighter the snow is slowly melting away...but there is still about 2 feet of it...no grass to be seen anywhere yet!

It will be a rainy day today...hope the sunshines for you all! bunny

Good Thursday morning. The second wave of thunderstorms went through last night. The lightning, thunder and heavy rain were epic! We got about an inch of rain yesterday and I'll be curious to see what is in the rain gauge after last night.

The chicken broth gelled up nicely in the fridge last night. I think tomorrow will be some chicken soup.

League bowling tonight.

Good morning everyone.

Well, the call with Dell accomplished nothing, The tech admitted that he and his colleague were stumped. We've rescheduled for next Wednesday as the laptop is at least functional, IF I can get it to start, and that involves several false starts, error messages and automatic restarts before it actually loads properly. I'm not going to start reloading it with programs just yet as I see another operating system reinstall in my future. I'm pretty sick of it at this point.

I spent much of yesterday deleting old emails. and forwarding important ones to Gmail. I can't believe how much junk there was in there from years and years ago. don't actually like Gmail but I don't know where else to go with this. I'm just tired of being stuck with webmail tied to my provider.

Today is the start of the beginner's Line Dance class. I hope my knee doesn't give me trouble. I seem to be having joint problems everywhere at the moment, not just my shoulder but knee, hands, hip, back, even one side of my jaw. Something odd going on.

In mid-March I get my new Magnolia tree planted. It's going to be strategically placed so that it blocks the sight of a really ratty old trailer across the road.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I've been waiting to hear about the laptop from he11. Doesn't sound very encouraging.

I hate the new webmail from my ISP provider. I use Microsoft Office Outlook to download everything to my computer so I don't have to deal with it. I have a Gmail account and an Outlook.com account for other things. I don't really like Gmail myself either, but it is at least reliable.

The joint issue don't sound fun... hope there is nothing nefarious going on.

The joint issue is probably just an acceleration of my arthritis. My physiotherapist thinks I should stop the Ball Pilates I'm doing. I fear she may be right. It's too bad because I enjoy the people in the class, plus the instructor (who teaches out of her home) has four cats and one of those cats is a sweet little guy who greets us all at the door as we arrive. I would miss the little guy. I've known him since he was a kitten.

Maybe I should use Outlook, too, before I get too reliant on Gmail. So Microsoft Office Outlook actually downloads emails? That's good to know. Maybe when I get this laptop sorted I'll check that out.

EDIT: Bah. I give up. The computer is once again crashing, showing error messages when trying to start, overheating while I'm just browsing and now the battery is discharging and recharging while it's plugged in.

Yes, Office Outlook is what is called an email client. Thunderbird is another one which is a stand alone option. To get Office Outlook, you have to purchase Microsoft Office which has Outlook. I don't want Office 365 where I have to pay for it every year. If I didn't need the other Office applications such as Excel and Word, I would just use Thunderbird.

If you want to give it a try, this is where you can get it. Open Source and free. You will need to set it up to make a connection with your webmail. There are port settings etc. which you may need to get from your ISP. You can set up as POP3 - older, but I find it words better. Or you can set it up as IMAP. At least I think you can. You will have to do a little digging into Thunderbird.

https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/

EDIT: Hagatha, I downloaded to my new computer and Thunderbird set up the port settings automatically!

What was really good about the dance class was that it wasn't all Western Line Dancing, There was a dance with a Latin beat and one that was more rock-and-roll. My friend and I watched some of the following class with more advanced dancers and some of them are very good. It's a HUGE class held at the local Legion, which has a large space. I must admit that even with my two years of Pilates and all the walking I do, I still found myself muscle-tired at the end of it. Good exercise.
