At first, just rain; a driving mizzle, sweeping across the old harbour town in thin sheets of grey. It
comes from the sea, the unknown threat, creeping ever closer. Finally, a shape, a towering form
with three masts, one of them a great height and black as pitch. It’s a ship, an old ship, sailing
ever closer on a ghostly tide, driven by ill-winds.

The Black Mast has returned to Saxton. The local ghost-hunters, Nigel and Lucy, face a new
