Gerry, they are non speaking puzzle games. They are currently on sale and more than worth the inexpensive price if you enjoy puzzles. I will admit to getting stuck occasionally but you can mostly figure things out without a walkthrough.

They can be found Here.

Thanks for starting a new thread, Ana!

I have 6 of those Isoland games but haven't tried them yet.

Last night I started playing another of those games that I'm reading doesn't have much in the way of puzzles, except I do see mention of "arcade" and needing to be quick. Not my favorite things. It is an expensive game (I paid quite a bit more for it on sale than I normally would have), blurry (pixels and people with no faces) and no talking, but you play as a cat and a portion of the sales goes to aid homeless cats. I'll see how it goes. I only played a half hour.

I still think I will also start Jack Keane 2. I'm pretty sure the games are different enough that I won't get confused. wink

I haven't played very far into either of these two games yet. Neither is really grabbing me and I have already started using walkthroughs.

I find it very discouraging when I have to look at a walkthrough so early on in a game. A lot of times (for me at least) it's just too easy after that to start consulting a walkthrough frequently. Sometimes it just can't be helped, though.

I think I might replay the Black Mirror trilogy pretty soon.

I do the same thing with the walkthroughs Marian. Once I look, I usually keep looking.

The cat game is okay if you like this sort of thing. You mostly hover around listening (reading) to peoples conversations and you chase birds, mice, & spiders (so far) which seems to lead to some discovery or other. There is a "hint" system once you are in one of those "puzzles". That's when you can turn it on. I guess it doesn't stay on permanently though. It doesn't tell you much. After trying to follow the spider several times I checked the hint which just told me that cats like to chase spiders, or something like that. Duh, I had that part already. Anyway, for that and then with the mouse I ended up looking at the video walkthrough. I didn't see anything that looked different than what I thought I did but eventually got both of those solved. The game auto saves but once I thought it had and got out of the game but had to replay a portion of it.

Jack Keane 2 supposedly has the same voice actors in it but they sure do not sound the same at all. I've used MaG's walkthrough I think just once so far. There is some action? (not sure that's the right word) in the game and it has crashed to desktop two times already. It has both an auto save and manual save feature though so I didn't lose anything. I am hoping it gets better.

I was thinking about those Black Mirror games the other day, but I'm not ready for a replay of those just yet. I meant to attempt that later game some time back but then forgot all about it. Sometimes I want to just replay all my old games that I know I liked and forget about the newer ones but I am trying to give some newer ones a chance. Also, if I attempt a replay too soon, I don't enjoy the game as much and might ruin it's memory.

I just finished Black Dahlia !! What a ride !! I tried to NOT use a walkthrough or one of those "cheats" for some puzzles - but I had to give in on a couple. Still, the game was great ! thumbsup

I still cannot get Mata Hari to play.. It loads and I can see the intro etc - but as soon as Mata stops dancing the game crashes to desktop - I have tried everything I could find on the internet to no avail ! So I am going to have to back-burner this one.

Presently, and sadly, I am in search of something to play -- old or new ! to be continued .... smirk

Jack Keane 2 was a very good game, oldbroad -- stick with it --I am sure you will enjoy it !

Unfortunately sureshot, I am having a crash issue with Jack Keane 2 that I don't seem to be able to resolve. I have one more option I might try before calling it quits unless somebody posts some other EASY things to try. I posted in Glitches if you want to take a look.

I'm sorry you can't play Mata Hari. I'll have to see if it works on my computer. Glad you enjoyed Black Dahlia!

Thank you oldbroad ! In the meantime, I found a game that looks very promising so far - "The Case of John Morley" I just started it. It has the elements of a good adventure mystery .... SO FAR !

Come back and let us know about The Case of John Morley. I have it on my wishlist but I'm afraid it might make me seasick.

No manual saves in The Case of John Morley. Only checkpoint saves.

Oldbroad -- NO manual saves - just like Uncle Reg said; otherwise the game looked very good.. the graphics, sound, story, and movement all good ( you should be OK with movement !! )

I played for a while and took a break thinking that when I returned, the "Continue" option would take me to where I left off ... no such luck !! It continued where I had to replay a lot of clicks to catch up ! Worse is - I never got to see where it auto-saved !! Bummer !!! slapforehead

That was the Not Fun part . smirk

It uses the Unreal engine which should allow for manual saves which would not be difficult to program in !!

Now I am not getting a "warm fuzzie" about it but I will give it one more shot !

OK here we go.. I am playing 2 games !

The Last Case of John Morley - which is pretty good but you have to make sure you get to a Save Game Check Point which is just a quick flash in the corner of the screen. Other than that - it is a pretty good game.

I got Mata Hari to run but only on my Linux PC which runs many Windows games under "Wine" and "Bottles" - took some tweaking but it runs very nicely !

I am half way through John Morley so I will finish that first -- Mata Hari looks promising - I hope it was worth it !

Happy Gaming !

Thank you for the updates on The Last Case of John Morley. I don't know why but once again I missed some posts made here. The ones by you and Uncle Reg on the 30th of April. I did see Mad's post on that same day.

The check point saves does not surprise me. I figured that would be the case.

I do hope you enjoy Mata Hari after the effort you put into getting it to run. I know I liked it. I don't remember a lot about it though except dancing and "bitta".

My updates: I am currently stuck in Jack Keane 2 (in Hamburg) but will give it another go before looking at the walkthrough. See if I can figure out what I missed. The game did crash on me once so far in Win 7 but was fine when I went back in. I am not quite 1/2 way through the game yet by the look of the wt.

I mentioned Cats and the Other Lives has cat type mini games. Well some birds were throwing stones at me and I tried to climb a tree to get to them up on the roof. I kept falling even after looking at the walkthrough. I got frustrated and got out of the game thinking I would have to replay some part but I didn't. It started me right back in the tree. I had mentioned this in a different thread and Marian found the solution for me, bringing to my attention that I was still having stones dropped on me. I had actually seen the white spots in the video wt but didn't realize what they were. Armed with that information I eventually made it to the roof. I am about 1/2 way through that game.
