I'm stuck in a lock picking puzzle in Legendary Tales and I'm stuck in a tree climbing puzzle in Cats and the Other Lives. Not much playing I can do like this duh

Yes, that is when I would take a look at a walkthrough, but I also understand why you are reluctant to do so.

I took a look at the Cats and the Other Lives forum on Steam and the developer had some suggestions for the tree minigame:

tThe key is sometimes stop pressing the button and wait under the mushrooms using them as umbrellas to protect you from the stones. Avoid the thorns, wait by sliding down at safe spots and then continue climbing.

and

The key is to be patient and wait for an opportunity to move. They don't drop randomly, so you can anticipate the next one if you patiently wait in a safe spot before making your move.

It sounds kind of wonky to me, and the controls don't sound very good either.

Thank you. I didn't see that on the Steam forum but I didn't even know I was still getting hit by stones at that point. I just thought I was falling. I have made it all the way up to the roof but cannot get onto the roof for some reason. I've watched a video walkthough (which has some annoying ads in it) but don't see anything I'm not doing. It looks like you get on the roof once you get up there. I'm not seeing paw prints to jump. I don't know. Maybe I need to move to the right and I'm not sure if I've tried that or not.

Edit: Got the s*cker in the Match 3 game!

I think I spent about 4 days on that level, Marian.

And guess what? Now that you have shown me that I was supposed to be dodging stones, not just climbing, I made it to the roof. It still took 5 or 6 tries but I made it! Thank you!!!!

Looking for a name of a game. I bought it on BFG, but with close to 600 games in my library, it's like finding a needle in the haystack. Brief description: Set in the late 1800s or early 1900s. You, a single gentleman, have received notice that you're inherited and estate on an island off the coast of England. When you arrive, you are greeted by the island's sole inhabitant, the caretaker for the estate. You discover that the estate was the site of three deaths. Due mostly because of a lovers triangle. One lady and two men. You make it you goal to reunite two of the lovers and see to it that the third lover, who likely caused the deaths of the other two, receives the punishment he deserves. Does this ring any bells? Also, I wouldn't call it time travel, but we not only see the estate as the run-down building it currently is, but also in the pristinely decorated estate it once was.

When I was reading the initial part of your description, I was thinking that the game was Shiver: Poltergeist. The single gentleman inheriting an estate, being greeted when you arrive by the caretaker for the estate. But then the rest of the description made me think that it was a different game as it didn't ring any bells.

Anyway, I will see what you have to say and then think about it some more.

I'm at a total loss for the game's name. I'll DL the game you suggested and if that's not it, see if it rings any more bells. (I'm sure there are several games that fit the description, or at least parts of it.)

Yes, there are probably several games that fit that description. And I just looked at Shiver: Poltergeist more closely and it is a butler and not a caretaker.
