Hi GameBoomers!

Thanks for the kind words about the story. smile Encouraged by those I offer the chance for you to explore other options you find interesting or promising.

zombie

Here begins the second time line of Dark Night.

The first paragraph:
This dark and windy night. Dogs are barking far away.

Your options are, A:
You light a candle, grab a book and a blanket and sit down in a chair near the fireplace.

And B:
You put on your boots and coat, grab a walking stick and leave your house.

What do you do?

I don't think that pie is in my own house, so I'm still going with B. happydance

If you spell the words "absolutely nothing" backwards, you get "Gnihton yletulosba",
which ironically means absolutely nothing.

Not surprisingly the result is the same. In that way this story is predictable. Same output for same choices.

Quote
You walk along the ancient road. The road that leads down to the bay. Water whirling in the air. Soon your cape is soaking wet.

Time to make the second choice (out of four) Option A:

Quote
The cold rain is hitting your face. You turn around and return to home.

Or option B:
Quote
Keep walking along the old road. Eventually you'll get there.

And the result:

Quote
Too late to turn around now.
Bummer, what a mistake.
I should have stayed at home, you think

Now for the third fork you got options A:
Quote
Keep walking along the old road.

and B:
Quote
Chose the shortcut over the moor.

It's dark on the moor.
The rain now mixed with snow.
You get to a shed, finally some shelter.

Your options, A:

Keep walking despite the rain.

or B:

Quote
Enter the shed and get some protection from the cold.

By dawn the rain stops.

Nothing more to experience. The interactive story is over.

smirk

I'd say the end this time was the worst of the 16 possible outcomes.
The moral would be: Shortcuts can sometimes misfire. We have a fitting saying in Swedish.
"Genvägar äro senvägar". Difficult to translate. But I'm sure you get the vibe and have some equivalent in English.

So how would you describe this? Is it Zork style?
Here we played the game or went through the story in text form in forum but it is actually also availabe as stand alone program.
But not for WIndows 10/11 or Apple and definitely not on steam or gog.

Thanks for participating and feedback.

Yes, it's Zork style in that it's a text adventure. You just left out the Grue. lol
