Budapest, Hungary - June 23rd, 2026 - Developer Zadbox Entertainment and indie publisher Blue Brain Games proudly announce that Dimhaven - The Lost Source is out now on Steam. Wishlisted by over 90,000 players globally, the game is receiving praise from content creators and players alike for its unique in-game notebook feature.

About the Game
The team behind Quern brings a new narrative-driven first-person adventure: Dimhaven - The Lost Source. Puzzle solving, dialogues and optional challenges lead you through the story: you travel to the island of Dimhaven to investigate the disappearance of your uncle. But that’s only the beginning…

Key Features
• First-Person Adventure from the team behind Quern - Step into the role of Emily Ravenstone and experience Dimhaven through her eyes as you explore a remote, mist-shrouded island in search of your missing uncle. Explore abandoned tourist sites, forgotten interiors, and eerie natural landscapes in a narrative driven mystery adventure.

• Realistic Retro, European Inspired World - Explore a once vibrant tourist paradise shaped by retro European architecture, design, and atmosphere. Now almost completely abandoned and isolated, Dimhaven offers a haunting sense of nostalgia - a world that feels both familiar and mysterious.

• Interconnected and Complex Puzzles - Solve puzzles, investigate locations, seek clues, and unlock hidden mechanisms through satisfying and rewarding gameplay. Every discovery brings you close to understanding the strange events that took place.

• Investigative Elements - Piece together the truth behind the strange events through storytelling, documents, objects, and locations. Every detail may hold meaning, encouraging players to examine their surroundings closely and uncover the mysteries hidden across the island.

• Camera and Notebook - Use Emily's camera and notebook as essential investigative tools throughout the game. Capture important details, record discoveries, and keep a track of clues as you test your wits and uncover the secrets hidden in Dimhaven.

Dimhaven - The Lost Source is available to buy now on Steam with a 15% Launch Discount.

Quick impression after 3 hours...
Game play and puzzling fine but in my honest opinion, visually its hard to believe that this game was made by the same developers as Quern. When I played the Demo quite a while ago I thought that the graphics weren't finished yet and the final release would be better.... Sorry but they are not. The pixelated, blotchy, blurry choice for the graphics have given me a headache and I don't know how much longer I can handle this. This is not an issue with my computer graphics but the artistic choice of the developers. Maybe I am doing something wrong and if so I will gladly retract and apologize but others on Steam seem to have the same opinion. Frankly in this day and age of beautiful visuals in games I can't wrap my head around this choice. I am not in favor in much of this AI fad now but if I could find a site where a push of a button would regenerate this game into beautiful graphics then I believe I would absolutely love Dimhaven.

Sorry if this offends anyone but I would like to hear from others who have started playing this and their opinion especially if different than mine.

I downloaded the demo and had the same issue GreyFuss. I wanted to like this one and play it but I stopped as I found it unpleasant to.continue. ☹️

Greyfuss, I played the Demo a while back and figured the pixelation was some effect the Developers were using for artistry. What effect I do not know. I got through the Demo without incident, hoping for a finished full game, as you did. Nevertheless, I downloaded the "finished" game as soon as I received the availability notification. I haven't played it yet, but I'll make sure I get enough sleep before I tackle the game.

One of the Developers, Aredis, states on Steam Discussions that "There are some assets, mostly texts that are left blurred on purpose to communicate that there's no hint on it. Generally, anything you can't see or read, you don't have to worry about." Then why have it?

I played the demo awhile back. I didn't remember the pixels. I went back into the demo I did not finish and yeah there's pixels

So the release is the same? I have to decide if I can live with it or just pass on it

Am just over two hours in and am enjoying the exploration and the puzzling.
Lots of other things to like as well (eg free roaming, save at will, a nifty camera and photo dynamic, hint system)
I agree the pixellation is odd (and it’s more than just text), but I also don't mind pixel art games so am not overly put off by it.

I've played the demo for a couple of hours and haven't been bothered by the pixeltion. The 3D movement is pretty smooth (especially since I am playing on an older laptop) and the exploring and puzzling may have my attention more than the graphics. I agree the graphics in Quern were amazing and this is not at that same level, but the exploration portion is similar and I am pulled in by the mystery of this environment. I wonder if adding more detailed graphics and textures would have meant compromising other game attributes (minimum computer requirements, development time, size of the game, puzzling options that might have been left out because of effort devoted to textures/graphics)? Game development must be a real balancing act between a ton of choices that must be made.

I point, therefore I click.
