I'm at the point where Nancy is inputting the hobo language on the clock in the barn, and it wont wok for Bottom because I never saw the letter it's referring to. It's in the drawer under the window seat. When I try to go back and look, the main character won't let me do it. So I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

You have to get Emily to leave the room before you can open the drawer. Find the picture: Go behind Jane's podium in the Lilac Inn and pick up the old picture.
Find the secret passage: Locate the secret panel in the common room and enter the passage.Follow the tunnel: Pull the lantern to open a second hidden passage, which leads you all the way to Mr. Topham's house.
Look through the wall: Follow the passage to the very end and look through the cracks/hole in the wall.Report to Jane: Return to Jane Willoughby and tell her what you found. Realizing Emily is being spied on, Jane will send Emily to town for some "fresh air," giving you time to snoop. If this isn't what you need, please let us know. You are having a real Nancy Drew Marathon. It makes me want to do the same. I haven't replayed any of the games for a year or two now. Have you played Penelope Pendrick and the Art of Deceit? A lot of ND fans are saying it is as good as the old ND games. Alex Hill: Whispers at White Oak Inn is supposedly another good one.

Thanks. I'll try to look for that peephole. That's the one thing I haven't found. As for Penelope, I'll take a look at it.
