If you have any confidential documents in Microsoft's OneDrive, remove them. Put it on a reliable, local, external drive of some type that you can turn off and on or plug in only when you need it or use a more reliable means of cloud storage.

Hackers/Criminals are taking advantage of Microsoft's "security" policies and stealing OneDrive credentials that can even eventually lock you out of your PC/Laptop.

Once again, the folks at Gamers Nexus breakdown the issues:

Thank you, TM! We have never had anything to do with One Drive - we don't like it.

Trail, we have had more than one discussion here about the cursed One Drive. The worst thing is that with Windows 11, they forced it on people. Ask hagatha about the nightmares she had with her late husband's trove of photos and One Drive. The first thing I do when setting up a new Window 11 computer is get rid of One Drive.

I HATE One Drive. At the moment because of the issues I've had with my laptop, I do have stuff backed up on One Drive again because Dell activated it again when I was trying to get my laptop repaired.

I made sure that everything important is backed up on an external drive since then.

My next PC will not have One Drive, ever. It is a parasite.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
