Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. We still have people in part of the state without power from the storms on Friday night. In a couple communities so many trees fell on homes and power lines it is going to be a while before all the power is restored. One home in one of the rural towns had 6 trees fall on it! No one was hurt, but the house was badly damaged. It is raining here today and expected to continue all day. We have flood watches in effect. Hope you all have a good Monday! Gerry

Good Monday morning. I loved going to my Great Aunt Berniece's house. No electricity or running water. She had a giant - to me! - wood stove in the kitchen where she did all her cooking. I remember helping her use a wooden churn to make butter and loved to play with her old crank-up Victrola to play records. There was also an outhouse down a path which always seemed to have wasps buzzing around it. Her father, my Irish great grandpa, lived with her. He once told me to remember "It's Orange Irish ya are, lassie." I loved going there.

Good Monday morning everyone. What neat memories from everyone. I loved visiting my grand parents home in New York. They had electricity, running water and a coal furnace for heating. I remember their house being "huge" as a youngster especially the basement (for the coal and furnace) and attic with all sorts of neat items which I explored whenever I got loose. And then I returned some 50+ years later for a family funeral only to discover their home was actually very small! But I still firmly hold on to my childhood memories! Time for a cup of WADDB and bagel. Have a great day everyone

Good morning all.
Yet another lovely day, though it's going to get hot later on. I think I'll drive up the coast road to Comox and do some Costco shopping.
John and I did rustic for the first few years of our life together and in our travels ended up staying in many a nasty and dirty old cabin with no plumbing or electricity. The last straw was the one that had a huge hole in the floor. After that I put my foot down and we graduated to dicey-looking motels.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Tuesday morning. More beautiful warm summer weather ahead this week. And no storms!
I've been working outside in the perennial beds deadheading flowers. I got the tomatoes sprayed for a nasty fungus they get yesterday. Best thing I ever did was invest $35 in a battery powered sprayer! No more pumping up the pressure forty eleven times!

Good morning everyone.
I had one of those odd nights where I just didn't sleep. Got some reading done. Coffee is definitely in order!
I'd already cancelled my Pilates class for today so I can just hang out. I'm going to move around the shelves in the garage today so they make more sense. and make another junk pile for removal.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. Gerry, we used to have daily afternoon thunderstorms that you could literally set your watch too back in the 70s when I first moved to Alabama...yes the Tour de France is awesome to watch. I cut the grass yesterday before it got too hot! Groceries are on my schedule today. But first I'll get another cup of WADDB and bagel. Have a wonderful day everyone

Good Wednesday morning. Another beautiful warm day in the upper 80's today.
Guenter helped me put a new pellet grill together yesterday. My old one needed repairs and hubby didn't feel like doing it, so I gave it to a friend who is good at fixing stuff. Now to decided what to make on it for its maiden voyage. I'm thinking a slow smoked brisket I have in the freezer sounds pretty good!

Good morning everyone.
I'm going to venture out for Yoga this morning, see how I feel. I'm still a bit wobbly. Yesterday the shelves were a bit too much so instead I took the seats off my dining room chairs to be re-covered. The pleather lasted years until Dude's arrival, at which point they became shredded. It will be good to finally get this done.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
