Good Friday Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. It got horribly humid yesterday...the feel like temp was 98 degrees! I was glad I walked early. Hope you all enjoy a great day! Gerry

Good Friday morning. Looks like a steady drizzle of rain for a couple of hours and then it should be moving out.
Fogfighter, the general rule of thumb for harvesting your garlic is to dig it up when 2/3 of the upper leaves have turned brown. Then you will need to cure it by hanging it somewhere so that center stem can dry out all the way. That way it will last several months. I miss my garlic this year!
When life gives you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.

Good morning all.
Went to my dance class yesterday. Big mistake. Halfway through I started to feel very ill and breathless and ended up going to the Community Urgent Care. Apparently there are a few minor chest bugs going around that are wreaking havoc on asthmatics like me. The doctor started me on a short course of Prednisone. Nasty stuff. Not recommended.
I have some lawn area in my garden that's not being used for anything and I've been thinking about putting in a raised bed for things like tomatoes and garlic. In Campbell River we had a greenhouse and four raised beds and grew all sorts of nice things through the summer.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Currently I'd say the top third is yellow. I did just harvest one as a test. There was a bulb, and one of those bulbils, or was it bulblet. So looks promising, and much better than last season. Happy Saturday Gameboomers!

Good Saturday morning. Overcast and kind of cool this morning. Terrible flooding in southern Missouri - many fast water rescues and homes torn off the foundation. Haven't heard of any deaths yet.
Hagatha, prednisone is indeed nasty stuff, but it can give quick relief. My DIL just went through an awful time with it... she is a redhead and some redheads react differently to medications and things like anesthesia.
Picking sweet corn this morning. I'm hoping there won't be too much of it, but I'm afraid there will be and then we'll have to process and freeze it. I don't get why he still plants enough to feed half the county when there is just the two of us! Last time there was easily 3 bushels of corn!
When life gives you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.

Good morning everyone.
I'm feeling a bit better today as the medication clears my lungs. It does give me a very restless sleep, though, even if I take it the morning.
It's a beautiful day today. I might venture a short neighbourhood walk later on. Otherwise I'll sit in my garden and listen to the sound of my little stream and play Witcher 3.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
