There is a heat advisory here for today so I will try an get my walk in early. Today will be a "budget" day...need to pay bills go thru bank statements and figure out how much tax to withhold from RMD this year.

I had big plans for the day but after another restless night I think I might just go for a nice walk instead later this morning and then sort through some old papers to see if there's anything else to have shredded.

But first, some nice coffee and a sit in the back yard.

The Germans have returned from their little 4 day trip. They were exhausted! They had to keep up with the much younger cousins! Much beer and food was consumed!

We will be freezing that sweet corn today. Oldbroad, my mom would close off the kitchen off to keep the heat in there and she, my sister and I would blanch and cut corn off the cob to freeze for two days. We usually did about 7 bushels of corn, so I got VERY good at that job! This corn is SO good this year that I told hubby to remember what variety it is so he can grow it next year too.

Another 90 degree hot one here today Boomers.

Drac, my grandpa didn't blanch the corn - just shaved it off raw. I see many recipes that do this but I am unable to.

Hot week coming up here again too.

I did get thru most of my paperwork yesterday Fogfighter. We have another heat advisory today temps will be in the 90s and very humid. I'll be walking very early this morning. I have a dental cleaning today...not my favorite to do!

Good morning everyone. Enjoyed a great walk this morning with cooler weather -- temperatures in the mid 70s...believe the cloud cover is helping. So will enjoy the cool morning walks while they last. Time for WADDB and Bagels. Have a great day everyone.

So much for getting cooler. Looking at 97 degrees today.

Good Wednesday morning. Although it was 92 yesterday, the evening was beautiful. I sat outside and read a book on my phone until well after dark - about 9:30 I think!

Step-daughter requested Beer in the Rear chicken, so we will put a couple of those on the grill tonight. Guenter will make a German style salad with Romaine lettuce and a fresh lemon based dressing. More corn on the cob, of course! I'm going to make a no-bake strawberry cake which just uses broken up pieces of angel food cake, cream cheese and whipped cream.

They are all either golfing or shopping, so I have the day to myself!
