I don't remember why I was disappointed but it might have been because I was comparing it to GK2. I do remember loving Discworld and The Dig which I think came out at about the same time.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

A couple of games that have come into my mind:

Rhem - mostly because it was just too hard for me to play without a walkthrough.

Uru - because it had jumping in it that I was unable to do but I may try the game again someday.

An older game I wouldn't call classic but which seemed to be very well liked, was just mentioned in a different thread - Scratches. I played the game twice. I guess it didn't make much of an impression because I just had to Google the ending and still don't really remember it. There are some small parts of the game I do remember but, for me, overrated!

I’m quite surprised that you didn’t enjoy “Scratches”, oldbroad ….

It certainly isn’t a Classic, in my book anyway, but I very much enjoyed it and have replayed it in both its versions 👍

I played both versions also, Mad. The game was okay. I didn't dislike it. I just don't think it was as great as everybody else seemed to think it was - thus - overrated.

I have really enjoyed this thread. I have been surprised by all the gamers who liked games i didn't like, and those who didn't like games I have enjoyed so much that I have nearly memorized them.

I must admit to being shocked when someone doesn't like MYST , Scratches, or URU. I am also surprised the a game named "Outcry" is seldom mentioned anywhere.

Most importantly, I like this site and gamers in general because no-one yells or argues, we just state things and move on. A website without hostility is a rare and valued thing.

The Haze, being as you mentioned Outcry, you will probably recall that the game is currently undergoing a 3D remake that is scheduled to be released this fall. It is being rebuilt from the ground up by the original developers. You can find Ana's announcement here.

And I sure do agree with you how refreshing it is, the lack of yelling or arguing on GameBoomers. smile

The Haze, I have Outcry installed from the disc on my Windows 7 computer waiting to be played - I have never played it before.

Discussions are for sharing opinions, presenting other ideas, or whatever, not for arguing. GameBoomers lets us do that! bravo

I am inclined to agree with you, ob. I did enjoy it, but the accolades it received seemed over the top to me.
