The five clue words are derived from an answer word that’s made up of at least eight letters, none of which is repeated. The letters of each clue word appear in the answer word in lefttoright order, though, not necessarily consecutively. For example: the letters in Colt can be found in Complexity, as can the letters in Comply, Exit, Met and Pity. Every letter of the answer appears at least once in the clue words, and one clue word in each set appears in the answer intact (Exit in the example).

-1. ire, use, bid, hoe, rose
2. pie, rig, fat, ate, pole
3. mat, laic, pole, bet, rot
4. fed, aid, rite, sigh, ate
5. whit, oft, own, sit, dot
6. cop, yot, sad, note, sped
7. cur, men, out, day, cent
8. sin, urn, ban, sue, mar
9. rev, sly, guy, rosy, ivy
10. ant, mire, cat, set, mint

If you spell the words "absolutely nothing" backwards, you get "Gnihton yletulosba",
which ironically means absolutely nothing.
