How do you waste your time over your morning coffee and/or at odd hours of the day, apart from here on GB?

My own regular daily twenty minutes of brain training with my morning extra strong latte consists of Wordle, Quordle (classic, sequence and rescue), Tightrope, Dordle and Alphaguess, all easily found online and free.

Of course, there are plenty of games which offer small puzzle segments (assuming that you are strong minded enough to stop at one or two at a time), but I am never sure which section of the gaming threads is appropriate for those: probably not quite casual, but no other obvious category, so perhaps here...

I have in mind games like Baba Is You, Steven's Sausage Roll, Wormholes, and more recently CATO: buttered cat.

I like your morning lineup, Lex. Wordle, Quordle and Connections are my daily musts.

I'm currently being held captive by The Artisan of Glimmith. I'm 70 hours in and still loving it. Just carefully crafted puzzle after puzzle in a gorgeous setting with soothing music.

Waffle is another fun one

I love the whole series of puzzles on Brainzilla. I think the Zebra puzzles are my favorite but they have 50 different games and puzzles that really are enjoyable.

I play Wordle, Connections and Strands daily and sometimes Spelling Bee.

I need to checkout Wordle. Eveyone seems to enjoy that.

Crossword puzzles and Wordle are fun when I'm on the road ... the Garden of Puzzling Delights is my main hangout

I've been addicted to these lately. One has you guessing a movie, the other a musical artist. You get no clues to start and you gain information with each guess.

Linked from Spotle is this other fun daily where you have to estimate ridiculous numbers like "How many teabags are used in London each day?". You get three questions per day and when you reveal the answer it tells you the quick "napkin math" you could have done to get close to the answer. I imagine our friend Denis would have liked this one.

Had a look at Waffle, quite fun but not taxing enough: it led us to Stackdown which I think might become a habit, as well as quite fun to play with a companion.

Sue, I like the look of Artisan of Glimmith and have asked the maker to put it on Geforce Now so I can access it despite it not being available on macos.

I am now reconfiguring my Mac to give a windows 10 partition using bootcamp, in hope of then being able to run The Artisan of Glimmith. Amazing help through the process from Google's AI, and I am meanwhile also using Meta's AI for secretarial services.

I cannot believe how far this has all moved on within the last 12 months, nor how addictive a conversation with AI can now be!

And that is in addition to how amazed I am by my fairly new Navimow X420 robot mower....

Restoring the subject, I am also partial to codewords with only two letters given, the Saturday edition of the British Telegraph newspaper usually having good ones with two levels of difficulty.

Very impressive, Lex! I hope you join me on the Glimmith Islands soon! I've solved over 800 puzzles at this point and I can see there are a lot left ahead in the mists.

I have also had several chats with AI Gemini and found them to be extremely helpful and interesting.
