I really like the Diner Dash type of game but find that they get difficult, fairly early on, for my limited abilities. The only one I've completed is Wild West Wendy which had difficulty level options. Could anyone suggest any other 'manageable' games in this genre please?

Hi aretha, the only one I finished is Mystic Inn. I really liked that one. I have not done the others so I can't judge well. There is a list HERE if you want to just browse.

I'd recommend [Miss Management], even if it doesn't have Difficulty setting.

Made by Gamelab, which made [Diner Dash] original. Kinda similar, but very different, and Character / Story Line is good.

It really depends on which ability you mean being "limited." Some of these games rely on speed to make things harder, others rely on strategy. For example, Miss Management is possible if you learn to use the power-ups properly even if you're not a fast clicker, whereas games like Apprentice: Los Angeles relies chiefly on speed.

I'm a really fast clicker, but I tend to ignore the power-ups until I really, really need them, so I'd pass the first 30 levels or so, no problem, then the last 10 would drive me nuts. smile Unless there aren't any real power-ups like Turbo Pizza or Los Angeles.

[edit: btw, the genre is time management.]

I'd like to have speed rather than strategy. I'll give Miss Management a try before re-trying Apprentice LA which gets tough for me quite early on - but I have avoided the boardroom so far!

Speed. Turbo Pizza was fun for speed, and Nanny Mania, and Belle's Beauty Boutique.

Apprentice was all about speed though. Miss Management is more about strategy - the last episode gave me headaches. smile

I could not get Miss Management to work for me. I don't mean the software, I mean the gameplay.

My character (Miss Management, I guess) just kept collapsing. I could not figure out how to keep her alive.

It's a shame because I hear such good things about it.

I wonder if I could do better now, with more game experience?

Margaret

Do you mean you prefer a game where YOU need to be speedy, more than strategic?

If so, I think you would like Mystic Inn. There is no color matching. The only matching is size of party to table size. Apart from that, it is purely fast and furious clicking.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. Partly because it looks SO gorgeous. There is a nice story, and the music is good too. (My husband grew to loathe hearing that music start, however.)

Carrie the Caregiver is speedy. You try to match blanket color to crib color, but you only put one baby per crib, so no twirling groups of people around. I suppose there is some strategy involved in keeping your eyes on the babies' hearts, but it's mainly speed. Plus, you can play each level in "training" mode until you get really good at it.

As Sally said, Nanny Mania is also speedy. I LOVED Nanny Mania, it was one of the first games I played. The main strategies are just (1) go through the house and get every piece of laundry and wash the clothes first thing; (2) clean while the family is eating. Let them sit at the table until your time almost runs out if you have to. There is no difficulty level, but if I could play it as a newbie, you certainly could. It looks good, the sounds are fine, and the characters are charming.

Hope that helps,

Margaret

Having trouble keeping Miss management on her feet! I'm going to try Nanny Mania and Mystic Inn next. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Like I said, me too!!!

Is there a walkthrough, or tips, for this? (Sally??)

People must assume, "Well, anyone can do that..." because I've only seen tips on finer points of strategy. Which doesn't help if Miss Management falls down within a few seconds (seems like). redface

I hope you like Mystic Inn and Nanny Mania. Please let us know; I'm curious to find out which one you like better and why.

luck Aretha,

Margaret

I also couldn't get her to stay vertical during later gameplay so i had to stop playing as I was getting as stressed as SHE was!! Kept me busy for a couple of days though so even though i couldn't finish it was worth it, i really got to like some of the characters and felt quite protective over them after a while...yes i know...i need to get out more lol.

i wonder who was the first to say "i am going to eat the next thing to come out of that chickens bum"

Love Nanny Mania - very charming and lots to do. Mystic Inn seems somewhat more repetitive but I haven't got far yet. These were great recommendations - thanks.
