You can't get into the lower vault until act II and when you get into it you'd better be a high level character because it's rough down there. Rougher than it is now? Speaking of danger, anyone have a good recipe for the "Heal" potion. That seems to be in short demand, so I'm guessing I'll need to take advantage of the Red Wizard's alchemical skills...

Cool, have you come across a Bag of Holding or Magic Bag yet? Could really use one about now.... Update:Never mind. Found one, but only because I started the game over. My Warlock just wasn't cutting the infernal mustard when it came to close combat so I decided to haul out my War Cleric. Now, he's a force to be reckoned with and someone I can comfortably live vicariously through...

Hi,
Always check the shops in the last slot for a magic bag. I bought one and found another but don't remember where I found it.
Well we fought the spirits outside the gate and won!!! Yeah.
My guy now has to deal with the spirit curse of which I am getting rid of as soon as possible. Is anyone keeping this curse. I know it makes you stronger but it reminds me too much of a Vampire or Wearwolf type and I never liked those.
We are (because of that curse) looking for the treeman or whatever he is to help us.
So where is eveyone else in the game???
Magda gave me a key for a secret room but not sure if I found this room yet. I did find a room in the Shadow world with a golem and some portals in it. I did have him open the portals but not sure if I have found what we are looking for. What the heck are we looking for???
We now have 4 of us and a Bear God waithing to help so really 5.
How many people are allowed in our party? Does anyone know?

Hi,
What the heck are we looking for??? I know what you mean VHL. I'm hoping the story line firms up after a bit. Right now it seems like the cycle is "Lots of talk about main character smelling bad followed by horrendous battle, lots of talk about main character being an abomination of nature followed by horrendous battle, lots of talk about horrendous battle followed by horrendous battle" Admittedly I'm doing much better with my Cleric since I took the game level off D&D Hardcore. I forgot that I kicked it up to that setting I was really getting by butt kicked for awhile there.... That Bear God is a very cool graphic. I really like the voice acting so far as well. I also like the fact that the characters make random comments while traveling without being engaged. Really adds to the immersion factor

Hi,
I also find that you can't click on them to talk to them in this one either.
Does anyone know how to imbue the sacred pool in the treeman area on the Island?
I tried to just put in an essence but nothing happens. Must be more to it then that.

Hi,
Well I do have arms for a golem from the secret room so maybe that was what we were suppose to get? Who knows.
I found the essence that goes into the sacred pool so am all set.
We are now looking for a Winter Hag? She was suppose to be to the East of the Fire area but have not found her yet. Do you know where she is by chance?
I have not gone to the Sunken City yet but maybe will go soon.
I know I bought one magic pouch and found another so they are out there.

My lawful-good cleric is succeeding much better at battle at the combat oriented side quests than my previous warlock for all his infernal power. And yes, there seems to have been a windfall of Lesser Magic Bags suddenly. One thing I noticed was that the shopkeepers, especially the Witch's temple shop will not have the same things dependent on when you check out their goods. I went through a sequence a couple of times trying to figure out how to get the spirit meter to stay at an acceptable level. My save was just prior to purchasing some Heal potions and a Lesser Magic Bag from the witches. On my second time through the same sequence I found that the witch shopkeeper did not carry any potions or a magic bag! Needless to say I stuck with my original save because those heal potions are in high demand as are the magic bags. Speaking of the spirit meters, I'm not sure if I like this whole spirit meter thing. Actually, if it weren't for the fact that it appears to be integral to the game I would be hoping that the first mod to come out would eliminate it. I have a hard enough time just watching my health in battle without remembering to grab a bite of...."soul food" in the middle of a swatting some killer elemental. I was able to reduce the craving to just about zero and got some good alignment points in the process, but I still don't like the fact that it's hovering right around the point where my cleric will take the 5% attribute reduction. Hopefully we run into some unreasonable spirits so I can get a meal

Hi,
Well I am out there looking for a cure for this spirit curse Trail Mystic.
It seems you can get cured but have to find out how first. The more you devour the spirits the bigger the craving will become. I myself am resisting it all. I even lost some experience points by I think eating my own soul? I hate this curse. My craving is at I believe 0 and going to keep it that way until this whole thing disappears. You can also use the spell or feat that helps you to resist the craving but only once a day and only once the meter gets way down to almost dying level.
Well on with trying to find the cure.
I find that once the shops sell you the 4 potions that they have it seems they don't get any more. At least I haven't found any more yet. Have to try to figure out how the heck to make my own but have no idea how to yet. You don't pick any herbs or stuff to make potions as far as I can see in this game so what the heck do you use to make them with?

I've been searching the web for potion recipes for the Expansion and came up empty. I'm little concerned because I tried a weapon making recipe that I know for sure works in the first campaign and the message I received was that the recipe was not valid. It appears they did some formula tweaking from one story to the next. UPDATE: I have come to the personal conclusion that for me, the spirit eater is robbing my enjoyment of the game. I find myself constantly watching the meter and not concentrating on the game. That and my character has died twice while traveling between locations. So, for the first time ever I'm loading a mod to use for the extent of a game. I like challenges in a game, but I don’t like being distracted from an excellent story line by one consistently nagging aspect. The mod allows you to rejuvenate the spirit energy to 100% when using any of the spirit related feats. I believe it also eliminates the Experience Point cost taken when using the Satiate feat (that one really bugged me, I do not like the idea of giving up XP points for any reason.) I just started using it; I'll let you know if I come across any related bugs. If anyone is interested the link to the mod is here: Easy Mode for Spirit Eater The nice thing is that I can quell my own guilt by kicking the game back up to the D&D Hardcore level and not be obsessed by the meter...

Hi, Oh that is excellent Trail Mystic. Thanks for the link and I am going to download it too. I got carried away with Dawn of Magic yesterday so haven't played with this one but will today because I want to see how the mod works. I know how to use the built in godmode in this game but I don't like the marked areas that show up and they are hard to walk on or through in areas because you can't click on the ground if they are to big.

Well, I ran with the mod for about 2.5 hours yesterday and didn't have any issues. It increases your spirit level to 100% no matter what "Spirit Feat" you use to rejuvinate the meter. Also, their is no limitation on the number of times you can use Supress, it removes the use conflict between Devour and Supress and the Satiate feat does not cost XP points. They also removed the alignment effect from using the spirit feats....

Hi, I played this game yesterday and boy was it a releif to have this mod. I love it. We are in the Sunken City now try to find our way to the Elemental (I think) that we need to kill. What a maze down there but at least our map tells us where the passage is flooded so we can go another way. We fixed what looks like a teleporter so must work from the other end because it doesn't work from our end.

Hi,
Phew...made it out of the Sunken City and have made our way to the tribal village (I think it called) and have just rescued the farmer's daughter. Still have to explore the rest of the place.
How do I tell what Act I am in? I do remember seeing the Act I screen show up but don't remember if the Act II has come up yet.
What is the last quest or what triggers the next Act?

Yay, finished it! In all, a great expansion pack. There were some less desirable elements, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I only wished the old companions had had a more prominent role...
Oh, and can anyone smell yet another expansion?

So, am I the only one who battled for like half an hour in Ashenwood before figuring out how to stop it? Good thing is I got about a gazillion essences for upgrading weapons and armor

I started it friday last week (not the one that just was)! But I barely had any time at all to play before this weekend, which was a gap between my exams. So then I gave it everything I had. There are three acts. I'm somewhat disappointe in the lack of meeting up with your old companions, though. Especially since they said early on that we would see the companions we thought dead, so I kept hoping for a re-appearance of Neeshka or Khelgar, but all we got was Ammon Jerro...granted, he was an amazing character in the original game, but it definitely didn't show here. There were not even any cut-scenes with his dialogue in it.

Hi, How did you stop the battle Trail Mystic? All we did was keep fighting and running toward the World Map to heal and then come back and fight more until the Wood Man finally appeared. Boy if we need healing potions then this game sure doesn't have any more. Once you buy them from the people that do have them then that is it. They have no more to sell. How the heck do you make more? I did meet one of the old companions but he was stuck in the wall but other then that I have not seen any others in this game either so far. We have made it to the Academy and have to explore. Boy those monsters at the gate were hard to fight but we made it. Now we have to head up to the tower.

Hi,
How did you stop the battle Trail Mystic? All we did was keep fighting and running toward the World Map to heal and then come back and fight more until the Wood Man finally appeared.
Must have been the ancilliary effect from your Arcane characters offensive spells that did enough damage to trigger the Wood Man to appear. The way to stop it is as follows: Warning: Big Time Spoiler Below! Around the trunks of the big illuminated tree and the smaller saplings that surround it is an area that needs to be destroyed before the attacks stop. We are now at the Academy as well. Those guards at the gate were the first creatures in sometime to really take a dent out of myself or Gann. We are both in enchanted armor of my (actually, my Red Wizard's) making. Combined with our other accoutrements our AC level is in the mid 40's and our Fortitude saves are 30+ so I'm guessing it gets more difficult from here out or those guards happened to be using some really powerful weapons.
