Wait til Draclvr notices this thread, probably when she gets home from work. I am almost at the end of it, but haven't played for a few months.

It seems confusing at first but you WILL become addicted, mwahahahaaa!! I leant this game to my sister (who works 10 hour days) and she played the game two straight times in a row Of course, she watched me play a bit before she borrowed it. When you get to a fight, the longer you hold down your mouse before releasing, the stronger the hit will be. During practice fights (like what you are doing) I follow the other fairy around while holding down my mouse button, when I get a clear shot I let go. As you get stronger, it will make much more sense to you. Oops, don't hold the mouse too long or it backfires on you I can't remember if there are 'invert controls' button in the options menu. I would check that out if you are having trouble controlling your character. Lots of games have that, like Harry Potter, and I find that I almost always have to invert.

Burpee, yes it does have invert. I wondered what that was. I will try it later. Thanks.

Edit. It worked Burpee and I was able to do some training. Now I need to find the Pixie bag.

Ah, I just got home to find this thread. I was also going to suggest finding the invert option. I think I had to do that too. Like I said in my e-mail to you, I'd train her up to at lease a level 10 before you take on any wild fairies. And make sure you find that silver sphere in the village. You will need it to capture a wild fairy. Have you practiced flying and shooting at the same time yet? It will be necessary to get some feel for that as the game progresses. You should now head for the Cottage and fight as many fairies as you can along the way. Collect some mana and healing herbs because I promise you will lose a fairy or two and have to reanimate them!
I just started a game last night so I could keep up with you.

Flutist Sounds like you have the hang of it now, but I just wanted to say in the begining I didn't have a clue what I was doing in the fighting (I would hold the shoot button down too long and kill myself) it was sooo confusing but I persevered and did a little reading and finally figured it out and Boy was I ever glad I did. Zanzarah is one of the funnest and most orginal games out there. Don't rush the game, try to get all the fairys and train them up...its so fun.

For answers to a bunch of questions you can use the search functions for the Zanzarah threads - besides, they are really entertaining to read!

You're so right burpee - I loved tooling around in that boat in Beyond Good and Evil. Lost a lot of races though...

Yes, like burpee says, go use the trainer who walks along the stream. Unless you hold down your left mouse too long and shoot yourself too many times, you can't die. Worgot is one of my favorite fairies once you get him leveled up to 20 or so. Also, F1 is your friend. Use it to get to all kinds of information about your fairies and their strengths and weaknesses against other fairies. At this point, it's not too important, but it will be very helpful as you progress in the game. The other thing you can do is like I said in the e-mail I sent you and put Worgot in the #1 slot. Then as soon as you get into a wild fairy fight, put in your more experienced fairy who will defeat the wild fairy. They will then split the points. I have my number keys set to switch fairies, so as soon as the fairy fight starts, I hit 2 and let that fairy do the fighting.

Yes, you sure can. For me, Worgot was pretty useless until he got to a high level of proficiency, and I much preferred other fairies.

I checked and my Worgot is still sitting at a lowly L-3, obviously he was useless and I left him in London. I did evolve a Corgot to Symgot, L-54 and he is pretty good, but not my best. Depends on what I am fighting. Flutist, I wouldn go out and catch a better fairy. Which fairies do you have now?

I'm not sure how Worgot can get defeated at the trainer since the other fairy does not shoot at you? Are you sure you're not holding down your left mouse button too long to power up your shot and shooting yourself? And have you tried putting him in the 1st slot and then immediately putting your stronger fairy to finish the fight so they can split the points? I leveled mine up to a 20 and I liked him because he was so fast. He is indeed pretty useless at the lower levels and later on I parked him in London.

I have Worgot in the first slot. I'm going back now and try again.
Bets
Edit: Okay, obviously, I am not doing something right. I have Worgot in the first slot. When I go to train, I get Sillia and I run out of mana right away. I am obviously not getting Worgot up to train.

Yes, but when I ask for training and the fairy is standing on the round disk or platform, the name at the top left corner is Sillia.

Hi flutist! I wonder, do you know how to change fairies during a fight (including training fights)? It took me a bit to get that... You go into the fight, and when you see your fairy flying in to the fight, use your scroll button, not clicking it down, just scrolling. Do it gently to scroll to the next fairy. If you click it down, you just change your spells. WHen you scroll, there will be a little light burst and the next fairy in line will show up. You don't have to wait for the first fairy to get beaten. This is also a good way to get all your fairies leveled up at the same time, as each one will get some points for appearing in the fight, whether they do any fighting or not! The trainer in the village has a fairy that doesn't fire at you at all, she just runs around and lets you blast her so you can get the hang of fighting. And flying and fighting at the same time if you want. Isn't she sweet! I never did learn the art of flying and fighting! I just flew to an area and shot from there!

Why do you think you have Worgot? Could it be that you didn't use a globe when you were able to capture him?

He shows up on my list of fairies, which is the sum total of 2, Sillia and Worgot.
