Those of us hopelessly addicted to the hidden object games, can well understand the attraction to the genre. As this article proves, we are definitely speaking in volume. grin

I'm glad to see that the high quality games like Madame Fate are here to stay and that our support is making a difference. happydance

I totally agree happydance

I have loved hidden object puzzles since my childhood looking in HiLights For Children and trying to find the items in the pictures.

It does feel as though we are being heard and listened to praise

So many games, so little time.

I, too, am addicted to the hidden object games. Being a senior, though, I hate the timers! I love to just take my time and find the objects. Sure wish they would put an option in ALL the games to do either timed or not timed!

welcome to GameBoomers Alaskalady! I agree as do lots of us, about the timers. I believe that they should have a timed and relaxed (no timer at all) feature and they would sell more. Some of us just don't need anymore stress in our lives. lol

Thanks, glad to be here this seems to be a very friendly and helpful forum! I have only found a couple that have the "relaxed" feature, so have been looking to find any "cheats" to turn the timer off. *grin* Hopefully either the companies or a few friendly programmers will help us out. LOL

Oh, I KNOW what you mean. Playing Huntsville now and those pictures to "arrange" at the end of each case are making my heart beat faster! pacify

It seems that the mainstream does notice us when the $$$ get high enough. :christmas:

Hi Alaskalady, I use to be an AlaskaLady also relocated from Fairbanks Alaska this year to Ireland. So welcome to the family of the Gameboomers. I would like to comment I am playing nightcode by playfirst and I hope real arcade or big fish will pick this up also, highly recommend the game. The downside is even the relaxed version is still not relaxed. This is why I love fairway Solitare if you haven't tried it this is an addicting game each day I spend hours playing it and at least there is no timer on it. YEAH! I play the hidden objects games looking to relax, and hate the stress of beating the timer, this is my only fault I have with madame fate, please let me solve the crime in my own timing at a slow pace. LOL

Now, after 2 days of playing my first hidden objects game, the MCF: Ravenhearst game mentioned in the article, I can see why sales of these games are doing so great. Three days ago I didn't have a clue. What a change in such a short time!

To love is to be happy with!

Did you see the insightful quotes from me in the article idea
(See my ego grow before your eyes)
Quote:
"When it hits retail during the holidays, people recognize the brand and buy it," Big Fish founder Paul Thelen said in an interview.

"Our best guess -- we don't have actual data -- is that it's people who have played or bought 'Case Files' online and now, with the holiday coming, they want to give that to friends or relatives," Thelen said.

"We initially came up with concepts that didn't work well. At first it was a kids' game, and that didn't work well with [our] audience," Thelen said.

Does anybody knows where to see Computer Game Sales chart?

I'd like to write a column about that 'Hidden Object' article for Pig-Min, and wish to see Computer Game Sales chart at that week. But not sure exactly where I could find that information.

If somebody knows about that, please let me know. Thanks.

Just a note for BFG-Guy: Thanks for Mystery in London. I absolutely adore the 360 degree look of the game and the mini puzzles are great. And thanks for the no timer choice! I have never loved a hidden object game as much as I have this one. I have played quite a few of them--Mystery case to the Agatha Christi series and this one beats them all!

Thanks again!

Mrkwang, I do not believe that is info that is readily available. We have this discussion in adventure games before and I believe that is info that is paid for and not publicly addressed.

Maybe it's NPD data, as I assume.

Sometimes I really wish to subscribe to that, but I'm scared HOW MUCH they will cost me, so I give up. -_-;
