Many people love BFG in this board, and even BFG guy come here to check comments.

BFG is good one, but just 1 tiny (or big) problem about Genre.

Let's see 'Adventure' genre in BFG.

Well. As I know, BFG has several 'Adventure' games to sell, but I can't find any here. So where have they gone?

Answer is here. Let's see 'Simulation' genre.

Voyage - Nibiru - Nancy Drew - And there were none, all of them are here.

Not sure why all of 'Adventure' games are in 'Simulation' genre. Maybe... After BFG decided to stock 'Adventure' games, they already have Adventure section with other style games, so they put all 'Adventure' games into 'Simulation' genre category.

I think BFG might build NEW genre category, as 'Retail Adventure' or 'Big File Adventure'. They are nothing related to simulation at all.

It is not just limited to BFG Mrkwang, it is pretty much any gaming retail or review site that you look at. Gamestop and Gamespot are worse offenders. I do not believe there is a clear cut standard for all to follow and they just put them anywhere. I'll be happy to quit my day job and help them straighten it out if they pay well. lol

EDIT: I was just looking through my emails and Here is one from Big Fish. It calls the retail adventure games "Large File Adventure Games".

Good point, mrkwang! I was also surprised to see BFG list the 'adventure' games as 'stimulation' games. Seems to me all games are stimulating duh

MaG, I like your answer - what a way to make a living that would be rotfl

Nice timing. Later this month we will be changing 5 sub-genres, including making "adventure" games traditional adventure and a new genre called "Large File Adventure". We will be dropping the "simlulation" sub-genre as there are not enought rtue simulations to make that its own category, they will be lumped under puzzle or action arcade depending on the "twitch" factor required for the game.
There will be a few other changes as well. This genre selection was made before there were any true adventure games in casual, but now that there are a bunch, we are rethinking the genre designations.

This is an easy fix but there are other games that are hard to pigeon hole into a specific genre.

Even we have trouble with where to categorize some games BFG-Guy. Particularly adventures that are trying to add new things. eek I am glad you are reorganizing them though, it will make them much easier to find. happydance

Yay! I've always just clicked on "search all games" when I wanted to find anything specific, but it'd be really nice to see at a glance which ND game I missed getting.

All I know is I'm very very happy BFG is giving me $20 adventure games for $6.99 regardless of what they are called.
