Nannyjo, not sure if this is a help to you, but I really had to search the house and outside of it several times before I could get that puzzle to appear. I think my problem was I had not paid attention to a footprint,a drop of blood, something like that.

Hi NannyJo,
I agree with Nickie. Be sure to look at all footprints and blood. Also look at the newspaper clock puzzle in documents.

Yep I have the same problem, I will retrace my steps.
NannyJo, if you figure it out before me, can you please post? I will do the same.

Thanks

I missed something downstairs in the living room -- you might want to look for a hotspot on anything that was disturbed during the struggle.

Hi, I'm having a problem getting the lemon tree. I may need a saved game. When I left the trophy room & headed to the master bedroom the door was open & the doorway was blank.I redid the scene & entered the room, out the deck, but can't pick up the tree.I found the hot spot to put the tree on.

Betty you may have missed a trigger for this. Did you check out the goat head and look at things on his desk? Did you look at the fresco?

Hi Sue, yes I just went back in there & did all that.I went out the other door to the deck, the one that I couldn't open from the master bedroom side.Because I had a problem at the door I'm wondering if it did something to the game at that point.I don't have any patches & have XP.Also I've had trouble saving some games. After the episode at the door, when I saved it,it went funny(fuzzy)What do you think?

I had missed blood dropsin the hallway,I know I found it once but must have missed another one ,that will teach me to take notes thanks so much for all your help,by the way the one that finally got it for me was the one where watson says a small person was dragged here,am almost afraid to play any farther lest it be the mute servant boy, have already been scared once when I was in that disposal where the leg is in the well as I was looking down there my cat jumped on my back and I almost had a heart attack!!!

Glad you found the spots you were missing Nanny. Just click on any and all hotspots in the game and you'll do find.

I don't know what to tell you to do Betty.
Can you go back to a saved game before you had trouble saving and play forward once more?
This part of the game is not complicated but if you think your save is bugged, I probably wouldn't play from it.

Well I have now gotten to the safe - missed two things:
Chair toppled over in Dining room and also didn't go down far enough to the back gate to see that some one had been dragged.

It seems you have to check everything. Hope that this helps someone else.

Betty I was lost and wandered down around here forever. The smartest thing you can do is find exactly [or almost exactly] where Sherlock was standing when the planks broke and then literally follow the w/t word for word.
I found where Watson was standing above only because that was a lighter portion of the game. When you need to go back the other way, pan slowly to your right until you can find the area with the bones.
Good luck!

Sue

Hi Sue, now I'm in the area with light (2 rays) & some boards. Can't seem to get out. I went back to where I fell & went right ,but here I am now & stuck. Gonna leave it for a while, however if you have any other suggestions fire away.
Thanks Betty

Can you yell up at the top and get Watson to answer you? I can't remember if you needed something to make your voice carry or not.

I just remember turning back around to go back the way I came Betty, sorry but I have an old brain. I think I was trying to go back to the central area where we found the rum.
