Thanks, nickie! I had linked Bets to the Alise site, but not to the screen with the Fairy locations. That site is a great resource for this game. I didn't know about F1 until the second time I played, Bets! I use it a lot now to remember which types fairies are strong against other types.

I think the spells the Psi fairier cast are the worst - especially the one that sends you somewhere else! But all the stronger ones do it to some extent. Before you start a fairy fight, look at the spells the opponent fairy has and it should give you an idea of the offensive and defensive spells they have.

To get a Psi Fairy, when you come out of the back of that cave where the Shadow Elf is to your left, turn right and go down to the bottom of the hill and go right into the Dark Cave. There are tons of them down there!

You guys are not going to believe this. But when you first told me to get a Psi fairy, I thought that was the name of them. When I saw the strenght chart, I realized my mistake. I now have a Psi fairy and have him leveled up to an 11. My Bonaria is now a 55 or maybe even highter, somewhere in the upper 50's.

I got enough pixies and went back to the cottage. Got the cellar key. My, it is dark down there. Got some goodies too.

This is getting funner and funner.

As soon as I get my Psi fairy leveled up more, I will try that darned shadow elf again. I have come close, but close is not enough.

Ah, no wonder! I'm glad this is getting more fun for you. I just love this game. My second time through, I went for filling the entire fairy book. It was tough, but I did it.

I can't remember all their names, but I have Mentaur and a Mencre Psi fairies. You can buy spells for them with the spell seller in Dunmore. You don't absolutely HAVE to have a Psi fairy for that particular Shadow Elf. But after the Tower of the Dwarves, there will be a Dwarf blocking your way and he requires you to have a Psi fairy in the first slot before he will fight you.

Don't fret Flutist, I never can remember what they are either, I have to constantly look at the chart. I know one thing, water fairies work extremely well on metal ones, must be the rust issue. The electic ones zap the water ones, must be shocking them. The mentaur ones are really easy to kill/catch, in fact you have to be careful to not kill them. I was beginning to think Zanzarah was like paper/scissors/stone, except it is fire/water, etc.

I think I have 12 in my fairy book.

Bets

Here are the levels of my fairies I am using.

Boneria 57
Aquana 27
Darbue 16
Corgot 23
Mantaur 18

How high do I need to get these up to?

Still have not defeated the shadow elf in the mountains.

Woo Hoo! Beat the little bugger last night! The first time I tried he had a couple of Ice Bears, so I trained up one of my Tinefoils and evolved him into a Tinezard (combo nature/fire) with an Elementary Stone of Fire. But when I went back he had Chaos and Psi Fairies and they were tough. But I beat him and still had two fairies left! Here is what I had:

Tinezard 26
Viteria 26
Aquana 26
Bue 25
Corgot 28

I would suggest playing your Darbue up to level 24 to evolve him into Darbue. That really kicks up his life points The same with Mentaur - level him up to where he evolves. You can check your Fairy Book to see what level they evolve.

And try to snag a couple of Tinefoils. He's my favorite anyway. But these are the ones you can evolve with the Elementary Stones and you will need a Fire Fairy to go down to the lava caves.

Thanks Drac. You read my mind. I was going to ask you who I might need. I've got to get ready for orchestra but tomorrow, I will let you know what fairies I have. I know I don't have a fire fairy and have never seen one that I know of. Will have to print out that list of fairies and what they are.

You won't have a fire fairy yet as you have to get to Monagham first. It's way up in the mountains by the Tower of the Dwarves and the entrance to the Lava Caves is there. The only way you can get one to even go INTO the Lava Caves is evolve a Tinefoil into Tinezard. So grab a few Tinefoils if you can!

Do you have the Fairy Conch to call water fairies? If you do, try putting Tinefoil in the first slot and Darbue in the second one. Go to any of the streams in the Fairy Garden and find water fairies to fight. As soon as the fight starts, switch to Darbue and let him finish the fight. That will level Tinefoil up quickly. Another fairy that Darbue and Corgot are good against are the Psi fairies. You can find them in that Dark Cave in the mountains. Do the same thing. Put the fairy you want to level up in the first slot and the strong fairy in the second slot and let them do the fighting. That's how I leveled up my Jum Jum. He is painfully slow to level up by himself.

EDIT: Made it past the dwarves and am letting Jum Jum wreak havoc in the Realm of Clouds!

I have the Ocean Conch. When I go around the water in the fairy garden, I don't get any water fairies.

Are you using it when the symbol comes up in your game? At certain spots it will trigger this, and it's then that you have to use it.

I have heard it in Dunmore, kind of a honking sound. Is that it?

Never hear it in the fairy garden by the streams.

I can't remember if there is a sound, but an icon appears on the screen as you walk along the water.

The honking sound is not the Fairy Conch. All you get is a click with the conch icon appearing in the upper left of the screen. Sometimes you will walk right by it and have to back up a bit. I get right down into the stream to make sure I get the click.

I'm at home for a few minutes. Took some sick leave as I had to drive hubby to his colonoscopy this morning. Got him settled in and am heading out to do some inspections. The state has our computer network shut down tight, so I can't access any gaming websites from there.

Drac, hope the procedure went well.

He got a perfect report this time. Now he can wait 5 years for the next one. My first one found nothing, so I can wait 10 years. Woo hoo!

Did you get your Fairy Conch to work, Bets? When you finally get the Fairy Horn, that will make things easier too. It finds all the other fairies.

Yes I did. I found out that you really have to watch the upper screen to see it appear. Got a long ways to go yet though.

Just look at it as perfecting your flying and fighting skills! grin

It really does go fast though when you put the weak fairy in the first slot and the strong fairy in the second slot and then fight the strong fairy. I've got my Jum Jum up to level 34 already and he would have taken weeks to get that far on his own.

If you have gold or cheat it like I did, bad me, go and buy golden carrots. If you feed one to a fairy it will advance them a level with the next fight you win. Once your fairies get higher up it takes even longer to level them.

I didn't use the cheats, but I sure saved up for those Golden Carrots. It takes 500 or more points to advance a level when you get up high!

In the Fairy Garden screen where there is a "T" intersection of the streams, the water fairies are level 19+ and it goes faster there than in the other screen with the stream and the elf lady where the water fairies are only level 9 or so. The other place you can level him up quickly is by the Tower of the Dwarves where you go down into the Dark Caves. Either Darbue or Corgot does well against the Psi fairies.
