Hello everyone! wave

After seven years of hard work, dedication and determination, The Silver Lining has now officially entered the Beta Testing phase! We are currently having a contest open to everyone, where the winners will become official TSL Beta Testers.

This contest will give you a taste of beta testing, by allowing you to physically play several scenes from a recent build of TSL. While playing, you should notice a TON of bugs. Your goal is simple: report as many bugs as possible to us, using the contest entry form.

This contest will run from March 9th to April 6th, 2008. Please visit http://www.tsl-game.com/contest/beta/ for further contest details and the link to download the game.

Good luck and most importantly, have fun! laugh

Bug hunting, sounds fun - I think!?! I'm game - at least when I come across a bug I know it should be there! lol

Unless I am reading things incorrectly, it looks like anyone interested will be able to download the beta-demo duh since the above takes you to the page with a download link. I'm a little confused about what the contest is about/for but I am going to download the demo anyway wave

Linda

**edit: Ah, the contest is to beta-test the whole game praise but I am still going to peek at the demo now. Not worried about winning the contest since I am not clever enough to play without a w/t. Love, Linda

Linda....it seems to be a contest to be able to beta test their game. They apparently have lots of bugs in this "test" and the ones that find the most, win. duh

Yes, come on Boomers, join the fun! We need some beta testers
to help us find all of the bugs so we can get them ironed out. monky

I've beta-tested about a dozen games already, but I've never had to go through a contest before. What a strange way to select testers. laugh
Downloaded the beta build and will "have a go" at it.

I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

I've played this for about 30 mins & yep! there's quite a few bugs - just wish there was also the opportunity to fill in 'missing dialogue' - that would be fun too!

I'll carry on having a go with the bug hunting but I realistically wouldn't have time to commit to a full beta test of the game.

The graphics & animation aren't state of the art but are very clear. The interface is very much 'old skool' - I loved it! & there is a hint of some wonderful humour. I also got the impression there's a good story to be told.

I just want to say that I hope that the developers can get the bugs sorted out (if they haven't already & are just teasing! rotfl) & get this game finished properly - it's one that looks a lot of fun & would appeal to so many of us!! smile

I too have beta test many games and never before was picked through a contest. Probably the difference between casual & non-casual games.

Well heck, I can't even get it to run right. It's all garbled and full of weird colors...

Patricia, I have beta tested a number of regular adventure games and this is not the norm of how you become a tester. They were just being creative. grin
