Hi everyone, below is a copy of an email I sent Gotgame Entertainment when I could not run and play Lost Crown...after many days all the can suggest is "Have you tried updating directX
(I already told them I have a new computer (vista) with Direct X 10.
Before I return the game I thought maybe you could help...???
I have just recieved my new game The lost crown and installed it on my Windows Vista computer
I have installed and reinstalled attempting to fix the errors below twice.

Once both discs were installed I get error:
Unable to execute file F:dx setup exe.
and:
create process failed code 704

If I click on the lost crown icon and "Play" I get error:
This application has faied to start because d3dx9_dll was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem
It looks like once the game is installed and attempts to install direct X 9 the error comes up. and when I attempt to play anyway it won't run because it cannot find the direct X dll. file.

What else can I try?
Cheryl

Cheryl, I got the same error after installing LC. Even though I have DirectX 9.0c on my computer I went back to the second disk and installed the version that came with the game. After that the game ran fine. I don't know how that would affect your DirectX10.

I had the same error message regarding the missing dll file. Try going to www.dll-files.com where you can download the file for free, and then copy it across to your game file. My game ran perfectly after I did this. luck

I went back to the 2nd disc and when it opened it showed about 30 different dx3dx9 files dating from 2005 to 2006...weird.How did you install just the directx9?..one of the errors I got the first time was that it would not install the directx for some reason..

That actually worked...Thank you! Now however, when I click on play I get a box with options for antialiasing and display properties then starts to load and stops at the beginning of game with birds flying(?)I really hope I will be able to play this game.

Cheryl, there is an exe. file on that disk for DirectX and I used that to install it. (Just double click on it.)

That is the game opening screen. If you look at the bottom right corner there is a tarot card. Click on the tarot card and your options to start a new game will "fly out" in way of other tarot cards.

Thanks Rice burner --- I'm going to add this tip to the Vista List.
