Am I going to have any use for the export file I made at the end of the game?

I haven't heard of any immediate plans for a sequel. Do you mind holding onto the file for quite awhile? (Anything can happen.)

I moved it to a folder I'm not going to delete then deleted the game folder.

Just out of curiosity, how might gameplay in an eventual sequel differ by installing the export file from the first game?

I do believe that Himalaya have a forum, so you could ask there... (I hope it's not against the rules, is it? :S)

You were able to bring some of your character attributes with you if you kept the file. I still have mine just in case, but I forgot where I tucked it.

Well, I didn't fancy any of Al's attributes, so I didn't bother.

Hope the file's worth keeping - I was hoping it was the sign of a sequel!

I thought several of the developers from the game have moved onto other career paths, especially Britney who is now a police officer (I think, but not too sure). She used to keep a blog but has not updated it for quite some time. The game has been re-released many times by other online publishers.
