I still gotta get a fire fairy.

Bets

Edit: I may have to quit playing ZanZarah for a few days. My right hand is swollen at the knuckles between the first and second fingers. Very sore. I think I will give it a rest.

Hope you feel better soon Bets. You do know that some other fairies can use fire spells, right? Even though they aren't fire fairies.

I loved mixing up the spells when I would get a wild card. One of my favorites was using a Light Fairy spell on a Stone Fairy!

You will have to evolve a Tinefoil into a Tinezard with a fire stone in order to go down to the Lava Caves. And, of course, have that Fire Card. Actually, down in the Lava Caves, try to capture a Pix which will come in handy later...

Hope your hand feels better, Bets...

Thanks Drac and Nickie. I think I am falling apart fast. Found out yesterday that I am going to have to have eye surgery. Don't know when yet and on Wed. I am going back to the Spinal Specialist to find out the results of my CT scan.

I didn't know that you could mix up the spells.

Oh my! Hope all turns out well.
Re the spells - Drac can probably explain this better - I haven't looked at the game in a long while. But, if you look at each fairy, it will show different shapes and colors for what spells can be used. It will indicate there whether you can use spells that are outside of the fairy's class, such as a fire spell for a stone fairy and so on. Every single fairy I used but one I think, I gave fire spells to. I do think that is what made that fire card fight so difficult for me though, so other than that it made the game much easier.

Ah, I wondered why there were different colors on the squares and circles.

Goodness, Bets, you are having a time of it! As they say, getting old is not for sissies! Hubby is down in the back again too. He's escaped a 4th surgery for many years now, but I wonder how much longer it will be.

I don't think I figured out the spell system until the 3rd time I played this game. The rainbow colors mean you can use a spell from any other Fairy. The solid color means you can use only a spell from a particular Fairy - solid green for Nature etc.

I am trying to beat those drated Nature Fairies. They are a tough bunch. Too many coming at you at once. No luck so far.

Still don't have the spell system down. Can't seem to use another fairies spell.

I'm probably not very good at explaining either! That was definitely one of the toughest fights.

My Jum Rock has his first offensive spell allowance at 3 circles. Two circles are brown (stone fairy spell color) and one of them is "rainbow." That means I can have a Stone Fairy spell of one, two or three circles OR I can have a spell of ANY other fairy at the one circle level in that slot.

If my Stone Fairy has an offensive spell allowance of three circles, but one of them is a solid color - say green - then I can have a Stone Fairy spell of one, two or three circles OR a spell of ONLY a nature fairy at the one circle at that level in that slot. A solid color would be a spell only for a certain fairy type.

If there were two rainbow circles or two solid color circles, then I could have a spell at the two circle level of ANY fairy or a spell at the two circle level of the fairy type represented by the color.

It works the same for the square or defensive spells. Did I make any sense?

Yes, that does make sense. Thanks. I printed that out.

Still fighting those nature fairies. What do you reccommend against them and at what level?

I couldn't agree more... I used Ice, Fire and Metal Fairies leveled up above 40. If you have evolved a Tinefoil to a Tinezard, you can take him up to the snow and level him up quickly there. I can't remember where the Ice and Metal Fairies do well. It seems to me I had my Bue in that fight too.

If you don't have any Metal Fairies, go to the garden where you first came to ZanZarah. There is a big bolder blocking a passage. In there is another screw lift that will take you to a place where you can capture a couple of metal fairies. There is another pixie in there too. You evolve the Metal Fairies with the Metal Tools of the Dwarves or something like that.

I think there was a place in the Dark Caves by the huge waterfalls that had three of them. I also just looked at the walkthrough and it says there is one in the Catacombs in Tirilin too.

If you have been in the catacombs, you might already have one. Check your inventory and look for the "Evolutionary Magic of Fire."

Got my Tinefol leveled up to a fire fairy. Now I got to get him leveled up more. I'm almost out of coins. Keep using them on health stuff.

Where did you find your evolutionary stone? I hope I told you right!

If you've gone down into the Dark Caves down to the right below where you fought that Shadow Fairy on the wooden bridge across a tiny stream, there will be tons of crystals down there. Also I think there are a lot of them where you go across a wooden bridge over a chasm in the Ice World. Once you blow up the rock to get down to to Monagham, you can use the crystals to buy stuff from the dwarf merchants.

I got my evolution stone in the catacombs. I have 55 crystals, so I guess I need to go sell some. Would like to get a good spell for my fire fairy.

Or you can use your crystals in Monagham to buy stuff just like you can use coins in the rest of ZanZarah. You will be able to buy fire spells from the spell seller in Monagham too...

Okay, I am needing some suggestions. I am in the Enchanted Forest trying to beat the Nature Fairies to get the Fire Card. Here is who I am using and their levels:

Fathrael 40
Greezloc 41
Tinezard 40
Chumar 41
Lighbue 52

Problem is I get bewitched before I even have time to shoot. Does anyone have any suggestions. I need some more spells but can't seem to be able to acquire the ones I need.

I'd get rid of Fathrael, Clumar and Lighbue and put in another Ice Fairy and maybe a couple of Metal Fairies. They are the strongest against the Blumella Possee.

Good luck! I think this is the second toughest fight in the game!

We're out in Denver visiting my son and his family and celebrating my grandson's 4th birthday, but I will check back in on the hotel computer to see how it's going...
