L4L, definitely not a solution for novice users!

I'd be willing to take a look at someone's progress at the chess game level if they want to send me a zip file of the entire folder I mentioned above but only if they are an experienced computer users (I don't want to be held liable if someone messes something up nor do I have time to provide step-by-step instructions).

It might not even work but I think it might.

That sure is one way to put it Ana. I don't know how I did that. I worked on that game for hours the other day and just couldn't do it. It only took about 20 minutes this time. I think I also scared my cat when I yelled after finishing LOL.

Thanks all. I finished the game. Thanks for the maze directions Margie. They sure came in handy.

I didn't get a score, don't know why.

That maze was tough! I tried muddling through it for a bit but was so turned around. I no longer have the patience to sketch out my own maps in games. laugh Margie's post with step by step instructions got me through it!

You guys are very welcome.

Tammy 64, I've heard of a few people who did not get a score either. I don't know if it's a flaw in the game or what. Apparently a lot of people have said that they received zero points if they took too long in completing the game.

The players who went back and completed the game faster were able to get a score.

Thanks for info Margie. I started the game over again (must be totally out of my mind), but the chess game went really fast. I only lost 2 pieces. I'm at the Eternal Tree now, but I think I will wait until tomorrow to do the rest of it. Too tired. I'll let you know if I get a score.

Tammy, good job.

Have you come up with a good strategy?

I just used the plastic wrap over my monitor, numbered the squares, but also had paper and pen beside me. When the computer played, I quickly wrote down the numbers on the paper. Since you can't take your eyes off the monitor, make it an 8-1/2 by 11" paper, that way you have lots of room to write down quickly.

I just finished the game. I got a score of 3637800 (Novice Fairy).

Hello to all,

I wrote this on another thread, but maybe I can do it again. To solve the chess puzzle, tape a sheet of plastic wrap on your screen, and use a dark colored magic marker to number the empty spaces. When an empty space lights up, you can either call out the number, or write it down. Yes they flash up fast, but you can take all the time you want between sequences. You could even have someone else write down the numbers as you call them out. This worked for me on the second try. Good Luck, and dont give up. The rest of the game is well worth it.

Opal - I wasn't taking credit for what you had told me to do, and others. It was a great suggestion and worked out well. Thanks for the information. My apologies if that statement was taken wrong.

The rest of the game IS well worth it. Just loved that maze. Thanks to Margie, I was able to get through that level also.

Hey Tammy64!!

Congratulations on your score! I bet the game went by a lot faster the second time around since you'd already conquered all the hurdles.

Patsy, this is certainly a puzzle that has given lots of folks problems. It would be nice if the company put out a "patch" to enable folks to skip this one.

Maybe if you leave it alone for a few days and then come back to it, you'll be able to get past it. wave

Patsy, did you try some of the tips that helped other people? See above for a couple of suggestions by Tammy and Opal.

Another strategy is to focus on the entire chess board and not individual squares. By focussing on the entire board, it is easier to remember what squares lit up than if your eyes are darting from square to square.

I also agree with looney4labs about leaving it for a couple of days and then coming back to it. That's usually what I do when I get stuck on something (I got stuck on finding the score pieces for 3 days!)

hey Looney4labs, I know what you mean about life being to short. Living with regrets is indeed optional. It's the same with guilt. I dont do guilt. I tried it once and didnt like it. (lol) P.S. "GO TIDE!" (being in Alabama, I'm sure you know what I mean, I'm about 40 miles out of Tuscaloosa)

Another thing I noticed about the chess game. I lowered the lights on my monitor, then I could really see the computer play better. This may not work for everyone, but it did for me. Good luck on the game everyone.

Hi ya Opal, I'm not too far from The Tide myself, though we tend to cheer for the boys from the plains puppy

Tammy, that is a good tip. Thanks
