Anyone playing Cooking Quest? It's the featured game on BFG today.

Cooking Quest

I played the demo yesterday and bought it. There's not as many levels as some HOGs -- from what I can tell so far, 6 levels (restaurants), 4 areas in each plus a mini-game inbetween), but I found it was a nice little HOG so I ended up using a credit for it.

Thanks misa...I saw it but didn't realize it was a HOG. I thought it was a Time Management game. Thanks for the heads up!

The mini-game in between levels/restaurants is a very generous time management. Basically you create your dish in the time alloted (over 9 minutes) by dragging your tools over ingredients (knife over lettuce for example) and then "cooking" some of the ingredients below. The mini game is very easy and very generous with time.

The game has a bit of an interesting twist though in the hidden object part. You start off each restaurant with $100 and hints cost you $20. You can get some money (I think) by finishing the 4 scenes at each restaurant quickly. You have about 10 minutes per scene to find the objects and after each scene is done (15 objects to be found per scene) you get to purchase your ingredients for your dish for the mini-game. If you run out of time in one scene, you can just redo that scene and not the entire level BUT you're stuck with no money or hints.

Not the best HOG or Time Management I've played (seriously, who can top Madame Fate?) but it is a fun diversion.

ETA: Gamezebo has a review here.

I also enjoyed this game. I loved the cooking mini-games in between restaurants. One can get sick of the memory games, jigsaw puzzles and spot-the-difference puzzles in some of the other HOG's.

There are 6 restaurants with 4 hidden object screens in each and then one food cooking minigame per restaurant.

I agree that it was too short. I've played through 3 times to try and get the 5 stars but can only get to 4.5.......Weird

Also, if you are playing, remember if you click on 2 objects quickely one right after the other you get a $5 bonus which really helps!!

Oh, I actually did run out of time on one of my screens the first run-through and when I did it again I still had my money and hints, just to let you know.

Oh, I didn't know you got to keep your money. I think I wasn't paying attention enough!

It is too bad that the game isn't longer though.

I totally agree misa!

What happened was I couldn't find a bloody butterfly so I hit the hint button and either the hint didn't show up or it was hardly noticeable so I just let time run out and started over again. I still had $85 on my second run through though.

That is another thing I noticed and should warn people about. If you hit the hint button make sure you are looking at the game scene or you may miss the hint. It's not very bright and I missed it on a couple of screens.

Oh well, back to Sprill........

Well I finished it tonight and do wish that it was 10x longer. I'm going to replay it though for better scores. It is fun though!

I played 45 minutes so far and I don't think I will buy it. I thought maybe it was going to be more like Go Go Gourmet or Cooking Acadamy. If it had been, I would have bought it.
Some of the levels are hard. I think I'll pass.

Dory, is it Mama Mariellas?

If so, then start by blending them.

I found exact instructions at Gamezebo here.

luck

Looney4labs,
Thank you for the answer. I never would have guessed the glass.

Anytime Dory wave

I always heave a sigh of relief when I look up what to do and realize that no matter how long I tried, I wasn't gonna get there lol
