Did anyone try to order the game from Kagi, not Paypal? As I understand the game has to be bought with US currency i.e US dollars ? or are we talking about AUS dollars here ? If it is US dollars, maybe the money is held? somewhere in the US as the game does mention 'bombing'? Just a thought?, though. Maybe Paypal is withholding the money ? Did you write to this email adress: sydneymystery@twilightsoftware.com I hope you get an answer

The exact same thing has happened to me. I bought it on March 3rd, 2008, using Paypal. I have my receipt... have my bank statement showing that the money was paid. But no game. Wrote to twilight software several times... begging for some kind of acknowledgement of my purchase. Saying, as well, that I wouldn't mind waiting for the game to arrive... and received no response... WHATSOEVER. I have come to accept this as a loss... and have soothed my anger with the knowledge that it wasn't a lot of money. I began the Paypal Dispute process twice, but stopped short of completing it, because Paypal suggested the delay might simply be an issue of an overseas transaction taking more time. So I waited. Big mistake, because there was a 45-day time limit, and by the time I decided to follow through with the Dispute, Paypal would no longer deal with it. I've given up... & have tried to forget about feeling like I've been 'ripped off'. A game from Sweden took no more than 14 days to arrive... YAY MDNA ! Why should Australia take 6 months? But okay... 6 months. I could wait for the mail delivery. But, there is no excuse for a failure to acknowledge: Email takes mere seconds! Shame on you twilight, for not communicating!

Jenny100~ Live and learn. I figured that if the company was no longer doing business, it would have shut down its website. In this case, it still looked 'open for business' to me... to jtiffin, as well. There's an appearance of a stinky business practice that smells to me like a calculated scam, in which someone, indeed, is collecting money and duping gullible patrons. Certainly, I hope this is not the case and within 6 months (of my March 3rd purchase) I'll get a game in the mail (I hold little hope for this scenario). But as I said... Live and learn. Fortunately, I didn't lose a lot of money.

Jenny100~ Live and learn. I figured that if the company was no longer doing business, it would have shut down its website. Or at least shut down the part that allows you to send money to them. Unfortunately it is a "live and learn" sort of thing. But in the future, check out the last time the website was updated and whether it has a functioning email (unless you already know people who have bought games from them recently). I hope you get your game some day.

Thank you Jenny100. I know that I felt a certain degree of trust --in part-- because of its past connection to the Independent Games section, and so, let my guard down because of it. Guess the fact that it's no longer there should have been a clue. You're so right about checking for updates, 'though I admit, it never occurred to me at the time. Advice well taken!

jtiffin, why would it be Paypal's fault? If someone is collecting their money and someone else is puting money into it, how should they know that you aren't getting anything for it? That is like saying that if you write a check and mail it to someone that it is the banks responsibility because you used one of thier checks to write on. Paypal is just a convenient way to transfer money, it is our responsibility to check out where we send our money to. Ana
