I helped the couple that had Nix-hound problems, finally found the dratted Malapi cavern, but it was well worth it. Lots of gold and items on the dead guy and a pile of the alchemist equipment, had to kill two people, ladies I think cause the were throwing bolts of something at me. I left more stuff in there, but it wasn't worth much. I ran into the guy that I delivered the shirts for again, a cliff racer attacked me, he got hit and angry and was chasing me. He started it, I was just trying to protect myself, I really hate those birds.
Finally joined House Redoran and am off to a place North of Gnisis, boy that town is a drag, no beds to be found so I am standing in the rain waiting for morning to find a road. Yep I did change the time, I hate wandering in the dark, unless my room is dark, hard to see. Seems I did the mudcrabs while out looking for the cave, so one down and I don't know how quests to go.
Good luck finding Peminie, I remember she was pretty much out in the open.

Mad, definitely go find the lady that has the infamous Boots if you can find her. The Boots can be described alternately as the best or worst item in the game (take your pick).

I seem to be looking for some kind of Ashibabba, Ashikkaa, Ashi something or other ruin for the Imperial Cult. I have no idea where this place is but in my wanderings trying to find it, I managed to kill a couple of winged twilights and captured their souls along with the golden saint. I now have four filled grand soul gems - three winged twilights and one golden saint. This capturing souls is pretty fun but now I need to find some more grand soul gems.
Mad you really need to find those boots - I love my boots of blinding speed - but then I'm also a Breton so they don't blind me completely - just sort of make things twilightly.

Nope Trail haven't found (or rather I haven't been found) by a Hungerer. Wonder what level you have to be before they show up?

I don't know exactly at what level you'll start to find Hungers, but if you've come across a Golden Saint, it should be just...about...NOW! They hang around Deadric ruins.

I have been back to Andrano Tomb and killed that creepy furry looking thing, saved and left. I can only handle a little of the spooky breathing at a time. Meanwhile I am working on the Adda something cave in Seyda Neen, I have done in the guys outside the locked gate and an stripping them while I build up the courage to unlock the gate. I got a Daedra Heart somewhere, $200, but what do I do with it?
I am getting annoyed with House Redoran quests, no pay coming in and lots of $ going out, brownie points maybe? I can't beat the guy in Balmora with the stolen helm, it takes me forever to taunt him into a fight, then I lose quite fast. Maybe if I run out the door and heal, then try again.
Another question, those places that look all deserted and have scamps in them, is there anything in them? Not brave enough to look on my own yet.

You can sell the heart or keep it for an alchemy supply. *Trail puts on his Redoran Council Helm and an air of false bravado, clears throat* Ahem....Speaking as a Redoran House Father, A Great House isn't going to let someone in just because they do something for pay, that's what mercenaries are for... You are proving yourself worthy of House Redoran by performing the quests. If you can't part with a few gold to further the causes of a Great House then maybe the Thieves Guild would be more to your liking... *Trail removes the helm, but the false bravado stays in order to cover the realization that he has revealed himself as an absolute geek * OK and about the fighting and running thing. It was a wise man who once said, "He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day" There are two places you'll come across scamps. Some are outside Dwemer ruins, but you'll come across them more often near Daedric Temples Have fun

Oh yes Redoran House Father, I rather thought it was something like that. Good thing I accumulated a lot of gold and the Moon Sugar and Skooma won't hurt either, I just hope the House will pay for my funeral when the Helm Thief kills me for the final time. I have come across a few of those scamp hotels, usually in the middle of nowhere, I guess I should investigate. Hmm, maybe when I level up somemore.

Deadra hearts are very important alchemy ingredients. If you aren't short of cash, put the heart in your favourite stash for later, when you sart to improve at alchemy. Ahhh, come on, ditch stuffy old House Redoran and find the Morag Tong. Much more fun, and ever so profitable.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Do I have to get kicked out of House Redoran first? I did that once by sleeping in someones bed, sorry I pressed the wrong key lady.
Meanwhile I finally found Nchurdamz (how do you pronounce that one) but before I found my fighting companion, I killed an Orc. Caption said he was in combat, I didn't start it but he went down and now I have a full set of Orc armor. I tryed it all on and I look pretty neat with it over my Exquisite outfit, but I took off and went back to my Chitlin stuff, pick it later.
Question now, is how to I open "trapped" things without being blown to pieces? There is one right at the beginning of this area and I need to save all my health for whatever lies beneath, shudder.

You get two kinds of pick in the game; one kind is a lockpick, and the other opens traps. I can't remember if they both work off the same skill. Lockpicks have a little bend on the end, and if I remember right, the trap picks are straight You equip them the same way you'd equip a weapon.
One caveat about lockpicks. Many forgetful adventurers have been killed by what is commonly known across Vaardenfell as the dreaded "Attack of the Lockpick." This is when a rash adventurer, his or her mind possibly on the fabulous loot just taken from a locked chest, forgets that they have equipped, in their sword hand, not a sword, but a lockpick. A lockpick is not an effective weapon.

Hmmm, I have a lockpick and a probe, I tryed the probe and it didn't open the trapped chest. I guess it doesn't matter cause right after that something zapped at me and I died, like a few times. I think I need to level up somemore so I am outa here with my newly acquired Orc armor to look for easier pickings. Hey I make sure I re-equip my weapon after trying a lockpick, can you imagine stabbing anything with that? So Hagatha do I need to get out of Redoran to join the Tongs, sounds interesting and very Edit here: I ran into another of those Scamp hotels and finally found the entrance, result, I was immediately killed off, I assume I am not ready for these places. I am almost at a level change so I think I need to wander home to rest on this, maybe I will check out the stuff I need to do up North before I re-tackle this Dwemer place.

hawka what level are you at now? Those scamps are a royal pain in the armor. And for your information, Madge and I are proud members on the Morag Tongs. We stumbled on their hidey hole quite by accident and they were so impressed with our abilities they offered us membership. Of course we have to prove ourselves by killing someone but that's a minor detail I found my first Hunger. He was in a tomb around Sadrith Mora. Didn't even know what he was until I checked to see if he was carrying anything interesting - he wasn't. Two whacks with my trusty axe and he was toast. I'm on another quest for the Imperial Cult - finding something called the Skull Crusher and am trying to find a way into this Hall of the Dead Shrine. The door is blocked and blasting away at it didn't help so I swam to an island and found the tomb entrance with the Hunger in it and now it's leading me down some sort of tunnel. I have a feeling this might be the back door so to speak into the shrine I need to get to. We'll see. I really need to start spending some of this gold I have. Right now I'm carting around 200,000+ with another 100,000 or so sitting by Mr How Dry I Am in the way of some very expensive weapons. Maybe I'll go pay for some training. I seem to be stuck getting the Wizard level in the Madge's Guild until I can get my attributes up (which the only way to do that is to level up). I'm not crazy about the Thieves quests mainly because I can't sneak worth a hoot (noisy armor I guess) and if I don't complete the thieves quests I can't complete the Fighter's Guild quests. I may resort to using a [purists, shut your eyes and don't read the next word] cheat to get that dratted code book into my inventory so I can at least continue on with the Fighter's Guild quests. So many quests, so little time.

Hi Not posted for a day or two - been having graphics card troubles and am having to send my current one (7600GT back) under its warranty. So in the meantime I have had my older one re-installed .... It's perfectly good enough for Morrowind though so I hope to play later I am at level 7 now - despite not having completed THAT many quests. I think it is my fanatical mountaineering paying off As for you, Syd - well - you are just in a league of your own Cheers. Mad

Finishing those off quickly is exactly the way to go about it as they carry a nasty Disintegrate Armor spell...

You can finish Redoran and then join the Tong, I'm pretty sure. The Tong are a guild, not a House, and you can be Head of every Guild if you play your cards right.
They don't want to be found. They are an *ahem* underground organization. And I found them by accident in my fourth game of Morrowind, when I really, really explored everything in every city and town, just for fun. I can't remember if you have to do something special to be allowed to join because I literally stumbled on them, but I assume that you would have to do something extremely naughty to get their attention.
Syd, levelling up magic can be a pain, unless you train. There are some spells that you can cast over and over as you walk around. Try to work out which ones those are and just cast them a lot while you're roaming. That will help. I remember casting a lot of Bound spells and Fortify Attribute spells, and some of the protection spells as well.
Do you have a low level Open Lock spell? Try casting it at a high level lock over and over and over (and then some more). I know that worked in Oblivion. I can't remember if I tried it in Morrowind. But if you need to level up your magic and have a lot of money, why not train a bit?
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I think you can run Morag Tong quests parallel to the House Quests if you want. I checked the disposition ratings for the Morag Tong against the other Houses and Factions and the are dead neutral across the board.

I am still at level 4, 9/10 of the way to a change. I got that code book really early on, I think I bribed her 100 gp, maybe I just admired the heck out of her, I don't remember. But she gave it up quite willingly. My other play as a Nord, she would give it up at all. I usually just save my game, then try all different ways to obtain something, of course that hasn't worked with the helm guy in Eight Plates. The place I was in that I died being zapped was some sort of shrine out there with the scamps, the other shrine in Vivec Underworks is instant death for me also. Syd, can't you leave some of your gold in your stashing place? I promise I won't steal it, I am like that too, I lug lots of valuables around with me, just in case. I gotta go and look for those Tong guys, but I have been such a goody-goody so far, maybe it is time to get wicked.

Good morning fellow Morrowinders. Sounds like we of the granny brigade are hacking and slashing with glee I switched from my axe to an ebony sword I looted because my axe was getting too easy and I needed a challenge (I can't believe I'm saying that) I'm also going to switch to light armor just for the heck of it. What's the best light armor in the game? I finished all the Imperial Cult quests and got some pretty good stuff - I got to keep the Ice breaker sword (worth 95,000 gold), the Skull Crusher (worth around 40,000 I think) and a pair of shoes called the Boots of the Apostle which allows me to levitate (I use those boots all the time - the sword and skull crusher not so much - I think I'll sell them). I'm working on the Fighter's Guild quests right now. I'm way, way up north looking for Vas. There seems to be someone on that island I need to see. Did I mention it's way, way up north??? Good grief. Along the way I came across a guy who needed a guide to The Koal Cave - had him standing right in front of the entrance and he informed me that he had to be there in a day and a half so we'd best be getting a move on. I said "hello???? Cave entrance". I had to take him in and bring him back out before the game acknowledge he was there. hagatha if I ever get back to civilization I'm going to train with the Mage's Guild. The battle part of my battlemage is coming along nicely but the Mage part is lacking. About the only spells I use all the time are the ones that open locks, water walk, breathe underwater, levitate and heal myself of various ailments (oh, and I also can heal others as the case may be), plus I use Mark and Recall. Other than that I'm not using the rest of them (and I have a bunch let me tell you) It's taking me too long to shoot fireballs etc. I'd rather just whack 'em. I'm also going to use some of these filled soul gems and get things enchanted as soon as I figure out what I want and how to do it for sure. Unfortunately I joined the Thieves guild before I got the code book. She thinks we're pals and won't give it up to me. And if I steal it (which I can't since my stealing skills are non existent), I'm toast with the Thieves (even though I'm not sure I'm going to finish their quests I still want that option). Hawka, you and Mad are welcome to my stash of weapons to use or sell anytime you want. They are sitting next to Mr Crab on his little island If either one of you comes across a man hiding from nix hounds around Ald'ruhn would you tell him his wife is looking for him? I can't find the twerp.

...What's the best light armor in the game...? If I recall correctly it's glass or the Dark Brotherhood armor. The one problem that I came across with the glass armor is getting caught in tight spaces. It has crystals and stuff sticking out of the greaves and the boots and I recall more that once I got stuck winding through a tight passage. Couldn't figure out what was causing the issue until I pocketed the armor and VIOLA' I made it through.
