Donna, they don't do patches, you just download the game again and you will have the latest version.

Hi everyone. We're focusing all of our today's attention on researching and fixing your problems.

About installing the new version directly over the old one - it's always better to first uninstall the old program, and only then install the new version. No need to track every bit of the game or clean up the registry and stuff .
Simple uninstall/install will do and you'll preserve your progress as well. Actually, even without unistalling, all should be fine.

Other problems in this thread seem to be more related to your systems and not the game itself. Remember that computers are complicated beasts with lots of different configurations and sometimes strange things happen. Unfortunately, not much can be done about that. We'll try to help as much as we can anyway, but some problems can be just impossible for us to solve without having access to your PC .

Anyway - we've tested (heavily) the new version of the game once again. It seems to work perfectly fine and it does for most people. So don't be afraid to download it, if you'd like to try the relaxed mode . And in case of any problems - please just sent us an email to support@codeminion.com. It will be easier for you and us to solve each case individually and we'll keep this forum topic from getting to chaotic and scary .

I just uninstalled the game by using the trashcan on the game manager, then I went to the BF website and installed as if trying the 1 hour trial. When it was done, it automatically activated and I opened the game and all was there, nothing changed. I didn't see anything to suggest a relaxed mode.

I opened options but nothing was there either. I still have the timer. I am going to uninstall by using add/remove programs and see if that works.

It's there, the relaxed mode, but only if you create a new profile. No, you don't lose your progress, but that's just for the old profile with timer. So, to get relaxed mode, you have to start the game all over again. That's ok if you haven't gone too far I guess. I'm not quite halfway, so I guess I'll give it a try.

I took that to mean you could save your progress and still be able to play in relaxed mode.

It's the developers site, I believe it's fine. Have you not been able to find out why you can't run BigFish yet, with all the changes they have made?

I am enjoying the relaxed mode so much more. I was well underway in the timed mode in level 3. I had completed Thot but I ran into an access violation on screen 50 in the Bast temple. The program would shut down each time so I couldn’t get past that screen. I switched over to relaxed mode and I like it so much better. The game is just more fun for me since I don’t have the pressure of the time limit. I actually found myself smiling more and wrinkling my brow less. I can enjoy the puzzles more and take that few extra seconds to think about strategy.

I have played into level 3 in the Bast temple in the relaxed mode and the puzzles are still hard but with a little time to consider strategy they are so much more enjoyable.

Even if I had been able to finish the whole game in the timed mode, I don’t think I would have had the desire to replay the game. Level 3 is just too difficult with the time limits that are given in that level. But in the relaxed mode, this game will be a game that I will come back to over and over.

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it more Lizzie. There is such a difference in gaming pleasure when you can play relaxed.

Hi,

In the Thot Temple, is anyone experiencing certain levels collapsing. When I got to level 11 in Relax mode, it kept collapsing, so I went to another temple for a few rounds and came back and it was alright. However, it just did it again on level 17. So I went out to another temple, played a bit then came back and it was fine again.

When you say the levels are collapsing, do you mean the you are getting an Access Violation and the program shuts down?

No, when I got to, say level 17, it sets up and lights up and then collapses like the level is finished. I don't get any error message and the game is still running. I just need to leave that temple and come back in and all is as it should be. It is only the Thot Temple that it happens, so far anyway.

I only just downloaded this today and within a couple of minutes I decided to buy it! I've never been a huge fan of match 3s I guess because I never gave it a good chance.

I also ended up buying Around the World in 80 Days and will definitely revisit Rise of Atlantis which I got on GGOTD a while ago. Um, and then I just ordered a couple for my DS (Jewel Quest and Puzzle Quest).

Actually, I will be downloading whatever they have there now because I just got a new computer. I transfered my copy to my new computer but it didn't have my saved game, so I have to start over again.

I'm sure you will like the game, there's enough variation to keep you playing.

Bumping this.

I read on Gamezebo today that there will be a new version that fixes a bug in one of the temples (Bast). The version for BFG hasn't been released yet but will be soon.



Also I noticed that the SaqPacks are available now from their website. Not sure if they are compatible with BFG versions of the game but I would think so.
